I believe they said it was Keeper, on a previous wan show.

While Keepass is great, I'm not quite sure they would go through the trouble of setting up ways to sync the passwords on all their devices and I don't believe there is a "per user" type of thing where some users only have access to some credentials, without needing to copy the database and editing it manually for each users.

For home users, I would more so recommend the free version of BitWarden for cloud based convenience (you can also host your own server if you want to be extra).
Or if you want extra security and want a 100% local password manager, where if you get hacked, it's your own fault, Keepass.
But I wouldn't recommend Keepass unless you're willing to go through the options and enabling the extra security features. Such as entering the main password on Secure Desktop to protect against keyloggers.

Since the 4 hour mark has been reached this week i got curious how the duration changed over the years.
Since i know a little js I took the WAN show playlist and parsed and plotted it.

So if anyone cares, heres the graph:

It seems between 2017 and 2021 the quite a few are missing from the playlist (especially 2020). If this ever gets fixed i can resubmit the pic.

Fun-fact: Ive been trying/challenging myself to keep the real watchtime und an hour but these passt few weeks made me surrender.
If there is interest in the script to increase the playbackspeed to more than 2x let me know.

MX reds are linear switches if im not mistaken so the sound they make comes exclusively from hitting the bottom of your keyboard so getting and installing orings will make it quieter.

For mice i definetly recommend going to a shop any trying out how they feel in your hand.

I myself use a black widow chroma v2 for about a year which i enjoy a lot though i make a lot of use of the macro functionality (amazing wrist rest btw) and a logitech mx518 which works perfectly for years. I chose that one almost exclusively based on size and feel since the very first mouse i had gave me cramps after an hour or two.

I would always advise to make a backup dafore you do anyhting with your disk but in this case the only thing that can really go wrong is that drivers fail or the system wont boot which will still not erase your data so you can just plug it back in to your old machine and backup from there

Before you do anything else grab a bootable usb (i.e. ubuntu) and save all your data
If all fails you dont loose data and installing win 10 again is annoying but not that big of a deal

Yeah get one better SSD for example an MX500
THe RX5700XT currntly has better value than the 2060S as long as you dont need raytracing (which you most likely wont need)

do NOT get a Seasonic focus PSU those are bad. Instead get a BeQuiet one.

This is kind of an OC though

But yes if you plan on giving it as much power as it can take als grab the beefiest cooler you can find

Eumel2 got a reaction from Molesy in Static fan comparison on a Air cooler help.
Tldr: The cooling power is based on the fin area and not so much on the airflow given you get enough of it.

Heat transfer is based on temperature difference, so the maximum you can achieve is (fin temps)-(ambient temp) and it gets reduce the more already warmed up air passes over the fins (fin temps)-(air temp). When you get enough airflow the air temp is only gonna rise a couple degrees over ambient so the temperature difference will change only by a few percent as in 80°C-20°C to 80°C-23°C. That means that enough airflow to keep the air temperature in the cooler sufficently low will barely profit from more airflow.

Be quiet will have done the math on that and they know exactly what they put in the cooler. Radiators are denser especially thick ones and you never go wrong with advising noctua just because more airflow might not help but definetly never hurts

They will operate in a setting that saturates the airflow so it will be fine.

Having bought a laptop myself recently in germany getting one with a dedicated grafiks card at that price is not that easy.

For colorwork teh HP Probook x360 440 G1 has a pretty good display and you could also get a pen to draw on the screen for on the go, though its a little over the budget and has no gpu
If shes playing sims only the internal graphics should be enough to be playable though not on high settings

Cheap color accurate monitors usually are comaparably slow while cheap fast minitors are usually not very color accurate.

What im thinking right now is a dual minitor setup with one for gaming and one for editing, how does that sound?

I used bequiets online calculator. (You can use any other those are prety similar)

This just isnt true, they do give a pretty decent estimate on what you will need. Tested that on 3 systems and it added up pretty well.

The things thats not good with them is that they tend to put in just a small headroom so you are at 80-90 % under full load. If you want a rather quiet and efficient system you should aim for roughly 70% on full load. Your system should draw some 380 Watts max so a 500W PSU is pretty much exactly what you want if you dont overclock (because that uses a ton of extra power)

Apart from the GPU (got an RX480  at max ~150 Watts) i got exactly the same system and i drew 330W from the wall (so ~300 in the system)

I know this takes it slightly over budget but you could fit in some fast RAM like

alternatively you could get half the kit for 80 bucks since im pretty sure you wont need 32 GB for gaming and if you are very likely to be able to upgrade

Also the Win 10 license seems awfully expensive. Maybe you got an old license you can use? Even win 7 and 8 licenses usually still work.

If you watched any of the reviews about ryzen 3rd gen that float around thers one common consensus: If you do video editing more threads are good and ryzen is superior in that regard.

What kind of footage does he intend to edit? SSDs are the better option in that regard so if he would not have the space on his 240GB drive that could be an issue.

If you do switch to ryzen investing into 3600MHz RAM is advisable
