Tocsin_786 got a reaction from Latvian Video in Experiences with non-techies
when your mom asks you how to attach a file to the email and after wards asks where the attachment is on the email expecting it to have the picture right on the text box instead of the attachment thingy. and also forgetting your password every time you use a computer

Tocsin_786 reacted to Slottr in Java: Trying to Learn Static Methods
Do your best to work through it. Best way to learn the syntax and principles will be to trial and error till you're dead
Source: Am doing that right now

Tocsin_786 reacted to zeusthemoose in Java: Trying to Learn Static Methods
What you have here is correct, you just never printed it. The way I learned to do it is set the method call of the lastFirst method to a string:
String word = lastFirst(); You can then print this string:
System.out.println(word);
Alternatively, you can just print it in one line using
System.out.println(lastFirst());

Tocsin_786 reacted to Slottr in Java: Trying to Learn Static Methods
In this code you just posted, its not spitting anything out because you're not printing, you're only doing a method call and not doing anything with the return value.
Going back to your first code:
Your hard coded values were broken because you didn't format the data type correctly
You need to put quotes around strings.
such as:
String name = "Slottr";
Your method required parameters, and in the method call in your main, you didnt have any
Eg:
public static String lastFirst(String first, String last) { ... } // AND lastFirst();

Tocsin_786 reacted to Cela1 in Java: How to Count odd Integers?
I'm not *quite* sure what you mean, but if you change the -1 / -2 to a +3 / +5, then you should get the second odd number. If you actually want to count, then use a FOR loop like;
import java.util.Scanner; public class OddPredecessor { public static void main(String [] args) { Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); int n = scan.nextInt(); n = (n-1 % 2==1) ? n -1 : n -2 for (int i = n; i < y; i+=2) { System.out.println(n); } } }
Where 'y' is where you want to stop (can be written as n+a, where a is the amount over the selected digit that you want to show).

Tocsin_786 reacted to W-L in Putting a Thinner OD Tubing with Compression Fitting?
It needs to be the same size or it won't be able to compress onto the tubing and risk slipping off, you can use the fittings as barb fittings with clamps/zip ties which would work for the time being.

Tocsin_786 reacted to WoodenMarker in Cooler to Cool 9900K in ITX Case?
It's not BS. Here's an example of it handling a synthetic 150w load just fine and Frostytech considering the 130w TDP stated as conservative: http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=2788&page=5
145mm is enough for some decent air coolers like the Cryorig H7 / Plus / QL or NH-C14S.
There's plenty of overlap in terms of performance between air coolers and AIO's. I'd recommend looking at individual cooler comparisons instead.
You can see relative performance here:

I thought you were joking, and then I turned off Ublock, and promptly turned it back on and ran Malwarebytes. Its like I was thrown in to the mid 2000s when banner ads didn't know if they were to be from professional companies, or "call 1800 for some nudes".

I've seen more model 3's in NY in the last month than since they were released.

There are only a handful of hatches that I do like as well, and this is probably my favorite one. The infinity truly is ugly. Its just too bulgy all over the place.

Interesting, guess you've never argued with a family member over something completely stupid and irrelevant.

Tocsin_786 got a reaction from leadeater in Apple's support for the iMac Pro is below par, according to Quinn Nelson
Yup, and dealing with them when I was a tech at a local shop was also great. They would just send their certified technicians into my shop to get a warrantied product fixed. No questions if we had tampered with it, or broke something. When I bought my XPS 15 last year, it was fine, till the mobo broke last month, and they sent over their tech to my house and he fixed the machine with a new board. I am very picky about workmanship on my expensive stuff, and the guy didn't leave a single scratch to my machine.

Lol, Going to their store is ridiculous because its always crowded. Getting a tech to come to you is like ordering something from Amazon compared to getting it from Wal-mart.

I was cleaning out my old HDD, and I found this screenshot I took. The screenshot is dated December 12, 2014. So this is a almost 4 year old episode! God; time flew to lightning speed.
