SenKa reacted to Princess Luna in Can I overclock my ryzen 2600 with gtx 1060 6gb oc edition on a Corsair vs550 psu?
Your friend is just concerned with the well being of your hardware since you're using an absolute garbage PSU that may pop at any moment specially if you'll start overclocking everything.
Can you OC with it? yes but you're advised not to simply because of how bad the PSU is.

SenKa reacted to faziten in Troubles with GTX 1060 in MSI GS63 8RE after SSD upgrade
So this happend after an NVME ssd install, which uses PCI express bus, like the GPU would.
I'd try to find anything related in bios to PCI express config and reading the manual to check if there's some config you have to enable to have everything working. Sounds like an IRQ conflict

ok cool then, Intel is going backwards and forwards at the same time I guess.

I'm skeptical about this.

35 watts of Intel TDP means jack, still coffee lake so it's still not super duper efficient. At least it'll likely be cooled by a stock heat sink. Really looking forward to 8 cores on an H310 board, poor man's HEDT.

SenKa got a reaction from Xanthe_2871 in Which reward TV should we get?
I dont know who is making Sony's panels, but I would personally say Samsung just because there is one less step of manufacturing and shipping between production and your living room.
Though, the Sony does appear as if it has better specs in all regards being larger and HDR certified.

...how?
That would be the most entertaining RMA ever. Problem: keyboard is white, sticky and smells like rotten eggs.

I kind of want to know the backstory anyways...
Take it apart immediately, remove the keyboard, and inspect for damage elsewhere.
Replace anything with egg damage, including the keyboard for sure.

SenKa got a reaction from mr moose in How do Chromebooks work so well with insanely low specs
Writing this from a Chromebook:
ChromeOS is very limited in what it can do natively. I am on build 73, and it does not appear like I'm getting 75, so I cannot pledge to the Android apps compatibility or the Linux apps compatibility/usage.
In all simpleness, as @GoodBytes, ChromeOS has the same benefit macOS has. Neither OS has over 30 years of backwards compatibility to carry on its back. Because of this fact, it's easier and simply more possible to optimize.
ChromeOS is still relatively young, and still has bugs, but I could see it being the future of office and educational computing. The latter is already true.

Not bad
I would get a better PSU (at least bronze rated)
And tbh you can get a better card used like a 1070 or 980ti

SenKa reacted to celerystruct in Looking for a PC for 1080p max settings 60fps on AAA games
Your friends may all be running intel but are all your friends super knowledgeable about pc building or did all your friends each build their own pcs and consciously chose to specifically pick intel over AMD chips?
A lot of people on here have been recommending AMD chips. I'd say that's a better indicator of whether something is reputable than what your friends run.

SenKa reacted to Fasauceome in So I am selling my old PC, How much is it roughly worth and should I sell it as an complete build or as individual parts?
This is a solid build, I think it's good to sell as a whole, OR minus the graphics card since someone may want to buy the system and put a better one in.
$600 with GPU, $550 without if I was buying. Although, including the PSU make and model helps.

Ryzen 3rd Gen is out in June, that'll shift CPU prices around a lot. As a note.

SenKa reacted to Syntaxvgm in IS MY DELL 0JJW8N COMPATIBLE WITH A CORE 2 QUAD
If you really want to cut a hole, non prebuilt motherboards that have wide support are enspsive. Cheapest option is to get a motherboard pulled from a prebuilt. To ensure comparability, look for one that comes with a core 2 quad, like this one. They often pull and sell the 2 together.
Obviously there's probably cheaper options. You'll need a micro ATX size.
I still strongly suggest getting a used sandy or ivy system. Core 2 is long out of date, and has a lot of trouble running stuff, but sandy and ivy bridge still run a lot of newer games very well.
