An i7-9700K with a relatively achievable overclock of 5GHz when paired with an EVGA CLC 280 and Aorus Pro will decimate an i7-7700 - We're often talking margins of 20% at 1080P:

All software along those lines are virtually useless.

The best way to have your system, specifically storage drives, configured is to allow for "regular" re-installation of your OS.

For example, in my case the only things stored on my main drive (Samsung 970 EVO) are the OS, software, and games whereas personal files such as documents, videos, pictures, college work, etc. are stored on different drives or using cloud services.

This allows me to re-install my operating system virtually at will without needing to worry about spending hours backing things up.

You may not want to do this too often if you have potato internet obviously.

Anything under "TJunction", 100°C in the case of the i7-7700K, is fine and especially so in the case of Prime95.

People get way too anal over temperatures when it comes to degradation or damage, current is the real killer.

I would recommend using Prime95 v 26.6 due to it not supporting newer instruction sets such as AVX which never versions use making them basically nothing more than an extremely unrealistic power virus: https://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=15504

_Aontaigh_ got a reaction from tukars in Will overclocking ram shorten its life?
Any increase in voltage, regardless of size, will result in the item degrading at an increased rate.

Though when we're talking very small voltage changes, who really cares if their processor, for example, will "live" for twelve years of thirteen years.

No, unless you increased the voltage.

If you're interested in performance rather than the aesthetic appeal of RGB, go with a kit of Samsung B-Die (3200MHz at C14).

That kit should easily overclock to 3866MHz at C16.

Nope, you'll only have to deal with potentially getting eye cancer when working on the panel that's 75Hz.

Your processor is definitely adequate for now, especially if overclocked.

I too am extremely tempted to upgrade but it would be virtually burning money with AMD and Intel preparing to launch their next generation CPUs.

Yes, it will probably set both kits to 3000MHz with timings of 15-17-17-35 or so when you enable XMP.

You could more than likely run them both at 3200MHz with those timings at 1.4v

You should be able to overclock that processor with ease as long as you can adequately cool it when paired with the Aorus Pro.

When purchasing a Z390 motherboard, one should pick the board highest up on this list that fits in their budget put simply - of course exemptions may be made if a certain board in a lower tier has a specific feature you may need for example:

_Aontaigh_ got a reaction from WeedIsMySin in Should i upgrade my RAM?
When it comes to Coffee Lake, there can be a relatively "nice" improvement in certain games and application when going from 2133MHz to 2600-2800MHz:

Performance improvements quite drastically drop off after 2800MHz and it isn't worth the money to buy more expensive memory that is clocked higher unless the rest of your system virtually has the best of everything else.

With all that being said, regardless of the market, you should not even consider spending a cent of your money to upgrade your RAM. The cost to performance increase ratio simply can't warrant an upgrade.

If you're really that worried, bump the DRAM voltage up to something like 1.4v, set the timings to the stock ones, and increase the frequency until it becomes unstable.

    Stability Tests:
    Prime95 v26.6: http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=15504
    Aida64: https://www.aida64.com/downloads

If you're not comfortable with overclocking it then don't, it really isn't worth it if you're worried about messing something up.

Edit: Have fun with the sick new system by the way mate!

Every game is different and will load the GPU in a different way.

Although CSGO isn't considered the most stressful of games, it's doing calculations that your card can't correctly do at your current clocks and voltages. I had a similar issue with Europa Universalis IV with a FX-8320 and R9 280X based system.

    Game:

It put virtually no load on the system but would destroy any overclocks to say the least....
