If this is the route you go, do note that you're going to need a 1440p high refresh rate monitor to even let that 2080 stretch its legs. So you're talking another few hundred down the road for a monitor in the build. Otherwise you're just wasting cash.

Here is a thought:

Going with a Ryzen 2700X and just smart shopping can put you in a Factory OCed RTX 2080 with a nice cooler, an overclockable 8c/16t CPU, I did play around a touch to provide RGB fans in the case and on the cooler. (I'd say at the pricing it's nice that 3 intakes and an exhaust are provided either way.)

This does include the 4ms 1440p 144mhz monitor in the build, so that you can utilize some of that RTX 2080's power! (it is 28lbs over the limit. A cheaper case or maybe a 1TB HDD instead could recoup some of that if you're worried.)

No way the 2700X is worth an extra £118 over the 2700.

AH! Right you are! I didn't see the awesome sale on that 2700. The core clocks are .3 better, but I wouldn't personally drop and extra 120 on that difference, since you can just OC that right back up.

Good catch!

Yeah really good price. I had to check it as pcpartpicker sometimes messes up on pricing/stock availability :)
