GrockleTD reacted to GOTSpectrum in Folding Community Board
The team is starting to shape up and I'm looking to have a group chat with them via PMs over the next day or so. After that we will work out specific dates and the like and get an event thread up asap.
As usual if anyone has any game keys they would like to add to the event and/or the community pool please do get in contact with me via PMs.
Happy folding,
Spec.

GrockleTD reacted to GOTSpectrum in Folding Community Board
Sorry I've not been around guys.
Y'know how it goes, life happens!
How are you all getting on? Still folding? I hope so.
I fold on my hardware when I can but streaming is really putting a dent in my output some days when I forget to unpause. RIP me!
We have left over prizes from folding month, so... I've been thinking about trying a mid-week sprint in the coming month, a five day event, mon-fri. Sound like something you guys would be interested in?

GrockleTD reacted to Spotty in What do each of these power inputs take?
That board uses some HP proprietary garbage and you would need to adapt a normal power supply to use it. If the board uses a +12VSB it is going to be a hassle finding a power supply for it.
Buy something else. Something with standard ATX power connectors.

GrockleTD reacted to PeteyBoPetey in LTT Dress Code
I don't like to be negative or give people a hard time, so take this as constructive criticism.
LTT is a $25 million business with over 3 million viewers globally. Moppy hair, tracky dacks and a T-shirt, walking around like you just got out of bed doesn't cut it. Colton, James and Riley are always well dressed and groomed. Honestly, how hard is it to wear a pair of chinos and a polo or colored shirt. A haircut wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Keep in mind, a lot of prospective future employers are watching.
Just my 2 bob.

That would merely rebalance the demand, not solve the shortage. This probably has more to do with the auto sector taking major manufacturing hits due to the ongoing chip shortages.

GrockleTD got a reaction from WereCat in Memtest86 passes with no errors, but system froze in the menu
ah no, i was running memtest via USB, F@H was just the first thing that came to my mind in terms of CPU intensive work. but yeah, i will instead go for AIDA

GrockleTD reacted to WereCat in Memtest86 passes with no errors, but system froze in the menu
I've read something about testing RAM in Linux. Apparently Linux has some very good and free RAM testing but I haven't read enough about it and I never actually tried it. You can give it a go if you feel like it. Maybe you can even make it work from a live USB.
-
GrockleTD reacted to WereCat in Memtest86 passes with no errors, but system froze in the menu
Memtest86 is not perfect. In most cases it should be enough but the problem with it is that its single threaded and does not run both the CPU memory controller and memory hard enough to check if the temperature or extra stress on the memory controller will cause issues.
And there is also the chance that your issue is not memory related.
