mohajem reacted to dave3818 in To those who worked on sales or retail, share your abusive customer stories
This was a while back, before credit cards had chips in them, just the black strip.

My dad used to work in a clothes shop, and a drunk came in to buy some shoes. He shouted abuse at other staff members, so when he was paying, my dad swiped his card on the till, and sneakily swiped the card over the powerful magnet that is used to take security tags off clothes. Wiped his card. Payback, I guess?

A few years back when my dad still owned a shop, if he disliked a customer, he'd scratch his nose with either his middle finger, or make the V symbol...

mohajem reacted to Oshino Shinobu in NEW RAM!
You'll likely need to go into the BIOS and enable XMP/AMP, then set them to 3600MHz (provided your motherboard supports that speed).

Then you can boot back up and check CPUZ for the frequency. The NB Frequency isn't what you're looking for, it's the DRAM. Due to DDR (Double Data Rate), the speed CPUZ will show is half the quoted speed of the RAM, so it would show 1800MHz for 3600MHz.

Note: It's actually more accurate to say that the quoted speed is double what CPUZ shows, as CPUZ shows the actual clock of the RAM, while the one that's quoted by manufacturers is the effective clock when accounting for DDR.

mohajem reacted to Oshino Shinobu in G sync with v sync?
That's because you're not using GSync when you're getting tearing, it's turned off when running above the monitor's refresh rate. You basically have to choose between tearing and no input delay and no tearing but input delay.

You could use Nvidia DSR to try to make the game harder to run, so it stays below your monitor's refresh rate. Then you'll be using GSync.

NVMe doesn't really help much for gaming, but a small speed boost can be nice. Don't worry about your PCI Lanes you have 24 on your chipset and the 960 evo uses 4 lanes. You have a beast a gaming computer just use it to play some games

Alternating the pump speed Can help as well as Well as tiltning the case around. Make sure to have all ports securely sealed when doing so....

Many thanks for the reply it will be primarily uses for movies ( maybe occasionally gaming depends) and probably when it's dark the room I'm having it in only has one window so not much light can get in. Are there any models that you could recommend? I don't know exactly the distance but probably 2 metres is the length my room is long but narrow and I have to have it facing the side walls but with check projectors to see the distance.

mohajem reacted to Delicieuxz in So, Facebook is deleting posts people make on their own personal Facebook walls.
A post I made 3 - 5 days ago disappeared yesterday, with the URL for it returning the message: "The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you're not in".

The post featured this video, showcasing a huge number of US news stations coordinating a brain-washing propaganda spiel:

And it also gave some other examples of coordinated propaganda in news media, such as the same pro Iraq invasion speech given by both Stephen Harper and the Australian PM:

The post also mentioned the "meltdown of humanity" slogan that Western news outlets coordinated in a propaganda effort against Syria and Russia at the time when Syria, Russia, and Iran were conducting their campaign to free Aleppo from US-backed extremists - while the same Western media simultaneously conducted a coordinated media blackout on reporting anything about the much worse situation in Mosul, Iraq, where the US-coalition was conducting its own campaign to free the city from US-created extremists.

The post mentioned (as per this post's information) that the US-coalition's military campaign for Mosul, Iraq, caused more than double the average weekly civilian death toll as was caused by Syria, Russia, and Iran's campaign for Aleppo, Syria, and that the US-coalition's campaign for Mosul, Iraq went on for months longer than the campaign for Aleppo did, but that, somehow, what was a "meltdown of humanity" for Western media when it happened in Syria, wasn't worth mentioning when it was happening in Iraq, at more than twice the intensity, and for a much longer duration.

So, in addition to Facebook being a platform for fake news, and in addition to Facebook giving everybody's personal data to all sorts of unscrupulous companies, it appears as though Facebook is also in the business of censoring news and light-shining on Western propaganda and fake news.

I have sent a message to Facebook support telling them they ought to restore the post.

No, it isn't UV sterilized, and I'd be lying if I knew all of the exact components of the mixture; we left those details to the plumbing company which installed the cooling system, but afaik, yes, there are both a biocide and a scale inhibitor in it. Unfortunately, I can't help with any specific implementation in the context of your setup. Also, to help with both weight and rust, all of the piping is a special ABS pipe imported from Germany - very esoteric stuff. After the plumbing company installed the system, they basically said they would never work with that piping again, it was so difficult.

lmao it's not honest. Linus gets paid an exceptional amount of money to use that thing and show it off. Razer's customer service is really shitty from my one experience with a DA2013 that double-clicked. Razer are the scam artists of the PC industry, catering their products to small kids and idiots. Every series of Blade has had thermal issues. Their mice double click and are built to break. Their keyboards are made with the cheapest Cherry knockoffs possible. It's cheap, well marketed garbage.

As long as you get the right size (1.75mm or 2.85/3mm) and your hotend can get hot enough (260c is more than enough for most materials) then yes.

I have an Ultimaker Original, but you really need the heated bed upgrade. Also the extruder on mine doesn't work very well, but I've managed over the years. As for the build, Ultimaker's instructions are very detailed and easy to follow once you find them, and the build took me about 11 hours.
