i am looking forward to build a gaming rig. i intend to play games only. i don't want to streaming, editing or other things

 

i5 8400

 

Ryzen 5 1600

 

 

which one should i go for

 does r5 1600 has problem with faster ram??

 

i intend to upgrade the rig 2 years later

You should wait for the 2nd generation Ryzen, comes out in around 20 days.

 

You intend to upgrade, so go Ryzen.

If it's the GTX 1060 3GB, go with the RX 580. If it's the 6GB, go with whatever is cheaper.

As long as it is the 1060 6GB version then they are similar performance cards. RX 580 has larger VRAM, but the 1060 will have better power efficiency and [dependant on cooler] should run a little cooler. In my opinion due to being a more popular choice, the GTX 1060 will likely have better resale value in 2 years time if you're planning on selling it when you upgrade, however this is just my speculation and I can't guarantee this.

1060 because it's cheaper right now and performs well.

As for CPU, go with the ryzen. You don't have to buy into Ryzen 2 straight away, but even buying into the original Ryzen 1 series will set you on a good upgrade path and the ryzen 5 1600 will be a great cpu for you.

AMD said they won't be changing thr AM4 socket for 4 years( 1 year is over now). so i'll  upgrade to newer generation later

 

i guess Ryzen 2 won't have significant spike in gaming performance, but in other tasks such as streaming, 7ZIP ETC

For just gaming, i5-8400 is better. 

But I'd say best option is to wait for Ryzen 2 launch and see how the market is at that time. If I remember right, Ryzen 2 is supposed to bring better single core and gaming performance to the table.

It's a clock increase and potential IPC increase thanks to 12nm. Might as well wait, under a month.
