The only thing I could think of would be firmware updates and the smart functions. You will still get the same picture quality and picture adjustments. Also, you can usually update firmware with a usb stick. Or, just plug in ethernet only when you want to update the firmware. 

Hi, I know this thread is old but I'm having the same problem with a similar spec system.

Corsair 2X8GB 3200mghz rgb pro
Asus rog b450-f
GTX 1660 Gaming X
 
I've tried the Ryzen calculator several times but each time the system will either not do anything and give me a DRAM error or boot cycle until it automatically resets the bios. Does anyone know what might cause this?

Skype, google duo, and a plethora of other apps.

I personally have used a few of the paid through work and depending on our use case are decent.
As for personal use I Skype on my persoanl pc and have had very very few issues using it. It can use your number or a new number.

Yea I’d do cpu always. But if for some reason you want to use gpu, for recording and not streaming, use a card with a matching encoder that you are playing on. Or better. So a 1060 should do fine. 
Using a 1080 myself as my 4790k isn’t gonna do either well. 

Generally a CPU encoder will be higher quality, and if you're recording on a second computer there is no real reason not to use the CPU, since it won't be impacting your game. A decent i5/i7 or Ryzen 5/7 would probably be able to handle that. Conversely if you're set on a GPU encoder, you will want a Tesla based Nvidia card, and in that case any card will do, since it doesn't take anywhere near the same amount of grunt to encode as it does to render a game, and Tesla made significant advances in image quality for GPU encoding.

Steps to migrate successfully:
1) Cancel your subscription on the LTT Forum 

Method 1, Cancelling through the Forum:

Click on view(on the right)
Then click cancel(on the left)
 
These steps are correct for most people but sometimes the cancel button is sneaky and decides to be somewhere else or isn't there at all.. This is another reason we are moving away from the LTT forums as we can't fix some of the payments problems. If these steps don't work for you please move on to Method 2.
 

Method 2, Cancelling through PayPal:

Go to this link: https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/autopay/
Scroll through your active autopays and click on 'Linus'.
On the right hand side there should be a Status row that shows 'Active'  Click the 'Cancel' Button beside it.
Click 'Cancel Automatic Payments' on the next popup.
If this fails for whatever reason.. Move on to method 3.
 
 
Method 3(Last Resort), Sudo cancel subscription:

Send an email to support@floatplane.com
Let them know your forum Username/Email and they'll take care of you. Just a heads up that the wait time will be higher than normal as we are receiving a lot of support tickets right now.
 
 
2) Create or sign in to your existing Floatplane.com account, you can use a forum linked account, that's no problem at all. 
 
3) Subscribe to whatever creators you want to support. https://www.floatplane.com/browse
 
4) Sit back and enjoy the content!
 
5) If you had a yearly subscription – Please send an email to support@floatplane.com with your forum account name and your floatplane account name. They will make sure you get the time you had remaining on your forum subscription added to your new floatplane website subscription.

Yearly options on the new site are not available at this time but will be soon. 
 
If all else fails.. Just send an email to support@floatplane.com with any relevant account names, emails, etc. and we'll have you taken care as soon as possible!

The way the sticker is designed is the design itself on a white background, so of course the white lettering in 'Linus Tech Tips' would be literally invisible.
 
The Australian e-commerce store RedBubble which is similar to Design By Humans has the same sticker background concept.

there's nothing basic about it. What it hinges on is whether or not they feel they have time to address it, and how many never-trumpers and Democrats can get together long enough not to rip each other's throats out to gut this thing.
 
the good news is that there are enough people in congress that both hate the FCC appointment's appointer and hate the repeal of NN that it COULD get done... but i'll be honest, I'm not holding my breath. Congress is dysfunctional and i'd be surprised if more than 40% actually listen to their constituents.

Guys don't forget that congress can basically vote to overrule the FCC's decision. My only hope is that Republican congressmen have largely been against this decision as well, surprisingly. They're apparently smart enough to realize that their constituents hugely dislike dismantling net neutrality, so they'd better be part of the solution if they hope to be re-elected.

With a holster as a requirement, I have no idea. I imagine your options are going to be extremely limited as it's a very niche product. As for reputable brand? Don't even worry about the name on the case. I've bought many cases over the years, and honestly there's no difference between good off brand cases and brand name cases. None at all.

Yup, your CPU and RAM upgrades work in the budget no problem. Everything comes out about the same price only much better suited to streaming. I'm glad I asked about this.

6 cores, 12 threads would definitely help with streaming while gaming, 4c, 8t might be able to do some streaming with h264 encoding set to fastest, but stream quality is gonna take a sizable hit and/or frames will be dropped
