    CPU: 7700k at 5.0GHz 1.35V
GPU: Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti OC edition. air cooled
GPU Clock: 2050-2063MHz on core clock [+98 on Asus GPU Tweak 2]
Memory Clock: 1444.5MHz on memory [+550 on Asus GPU Tweak 2]

    1080p extreme score: 6149
    4k Optimized score: 9792

I really don't have much headroom honestly given the actual card is oc'ed out of the box & pascal's nature and I'm not ready for custom waterloop yet.

xsimplyjosh got a reaction from Prox1ma in Asus strix 1080ti 11G vs O11G is there a difference on how far each can be manually overclocked?
I have the O11G but kinda sucks since i cant break the 2050MHz barrier due to crashes and instability so i settle with 2000MHz so far.

still very happy though with its performance despite the above.

could only put a +40-60mhz oc before any higher will cause a crash.

O11G is binned, but I personally believe that as far as performance gains for the money that you spend, its not worth it. So if you are getting the O11G only to get more performance it will be negligible at most.

xsimplyjosh got a reaction from Nocte in Question regarding achieving 144hz with my current spec.
imo MOBAs are fine at 60fps which your system is capable of. not enough to justify 144fps due to the less twitching of the interaction in game since you have a complete view of the scene.

Only issue is i myself can't even notice the diff in 60fps and 144fps in moba, it feels the same due to not much twitching involved in terms of camera angles.

The 144Hz becomes more evident in games where you twitch and switch camera angles very quickly as far as i know it. like fps (CS:Go) for example.

their deciusion makes sense, i mean the vega cards are just RX cards with more stream processors and not a new architecture. the Rx 580 has the same TDP as the gtx 1080, that says a lot

The 100 CPU always comes first for Nvidia. Their system, right now, is Computer Cards for Business first. It's only in the last 9 months that the strategy has been really profitable for them. (It took a while. It was a gamble that worked, but it was a gamble.)

Though Volta wasn't coming this year unless Vega smoked Pascal.

But, that's not actually the space that Nvidia should be worried about. The Vega SSG is, far & away, the most interesting part of the Vega stack. There's a big market in Media production, and AMD might be able to wipe Nvidia out of that market by next year. It's a product that'll be very interesting for LMG and any other production house.

xsimplyjosh reacted to Princess Luna in 1080Ti as a worthy upgrade?
Well the 1080ti would certainly be justified if you miss ultra's... I actually think the 1080ti would be a good deal if you managed selling the 980ti to reduce losses.

Volta was delayed after all since the competition failed to beat the 1080 and 1080ti, why would nVidia kill it's line up years of investment if they already have the best? you can read further here...

I would say that's amazing because, you get your money back. The money can be used to fund another Graphics purchase.
If you were sent say the actual unit back again [refurbished] you won't get that money's equivalent worth of the graphics and obviously have to sell lower than what you get back in actual cash.

First I thought this was a mistake and you meant a 1060Ti, cause to me a 1070Ti doesnt really seem to make sense. We'll see how it stacks up compared to a 1080.

The biggest disappointment in the history of disappointments. I can't believe they released that. iPhone X looks awful, the camera bump is even bigger now and the top cutout in the top of the screen looks also very bad, Also they recycled the design 4th time for iPhone 8... Poor Phil Shiller was talking about iPhone 8 to a theater full of very bored people.

New innovation from Apple: The 3.5mm audio experience output. It allows you to charge the phone and use audio experience devices at the same time. We are the first company in the world to integrate both the lightning port and the 3.5mm audio experience output into a phone.

My initial reaction is...is this it?????

The iPhone 8 is basically an iPhone 7 with a faster chip, although the body/face sensor thing may add more to the experience. That aside, though...it's really not a major upgrade from even something like a 6S...

As for the iPhone X, it looks much better...but the design isn't really impressive, considering that it looks like every other flagship phone out right now. At least they've finally added OLED and a higher resolution. Again, the Face ID thing looks like it might be pretty useful...but Animoji...really? Come on. That's supposed to be a fucking feature? Does Jacksfilms work for Apple now, or something? And...wireless charging. About time they caught up, though I never understood why it was such a big deal.

Wait...the fingerprint sensor was removed? But the less expensive iPhone 8 models still have it?? Disappointing, and I also call bullshit. They could've easily added it to the back. It'll be interesting to see how Apple's replacement for the physical buttons fares against the software buttons that other manufacturers have implemented, though.

The A11 should be (as usual) the fastest (smartphone) processor on the market, and Apple never really fails to impress me with their engineering capabilities. That alone doesn't really look like it'll make the iPhone X worth $400 (Canadian) over the Galaxy S8, though. We'll have to wait and see, I guess. Specs aren't everything.

Smartphones impress me less and less these days...I remember when the iPhone 5S was the coolest thing ever...

want to know if they're the same size? go to the manufacturer's website for the two cards you're comparing and look at their physical dimensions. This is a question for Google, not a forum.

xsimplyjosh got a reaction from Darkseth in Is a 1080 worth the upgrade from a 1080
All in all, 1440p at 144-165Hz IS the sweet spot for top tier gaming at the moment, slight bump over 1080p i find 1440p A LOT already for that "miniscule increase in resolution" that others keep harping on about that it doesn't match the 4k but you get the best of both worlds... 144hz + decent bump in resolution, something easy to manage with.
even with two windows side by side i personally feel on a 27" screen, 1440p is great. its not too big, its not too small.

then you have the option of ultrawide 1440p if that tickles your fancy if u like First person style games [pubg csgo overwatch etc]... 3440x1440 at theoretical 100hz max [overclocked]...
