f*ck. slow roll detroit was cancelled today due to the heat.
Two weeks ago it was cancelled because of the cold, not it's been cancelled because of the heat. Why can't people just man up?
I was there last week and it was so slow I was having trouble balancing for the first two miles. The average speed was 5 miles an hour. Yet the heat is what cancelled it? We get like, barely any exercise and don't sweat at all.

According to forbes:
Americans want to be able to drive 400 miles in a single charge with an electric car.
With current battery technologies, keep dreaming because that isn't gonna happen.
Secondly, needing to drive 400 miles on a single charge makes ABSOLUTELY ZERO sense.
According to the US department of transportation, Americans drive 12,000 miles per year or about 32 miles a day.
It is utterly and completely stupid to think you need to go 400 miles on a single charge. If you only go 32 miles a day, you can charge up your car every single day when you get home overnight unlike gas where you go to a station to fill up.
Here is what would make significantly more sense.
My friend has a ford fusion energy that only has a battery range of 20 miles. But guess what, he drives 5 miles to work and 5 miles back 350 out of the 365 days in a year. Sometimes he goes on road trips or for long distances, so he uses the gas engine for that. But the vast majority of the time, it's from work and back.
The last time he filled up the gas tank was October 2017. He plugs in the car every night and just uses the battery.
Here's what I can see making much more sense. Imagine if almost every car sold today came with a 12.5KWh battery. This should be good enough to go about 50 miles with most american driving habits. Then the car has a generator that recharges the battery, just like a chevy volt.
This was the vast majority of the time, you could go months without filling up your gas tank without needing a gigantic battery. When one finally did need that extra range, they could go to a gas station and fill up the tank.
Also if stores and public locations keep installing more EV charging stations, then you could just charge up your while while you are at the store. Unlike a gas station which is something you have to actually go to every week and make a dedicated trip for. EVs can be charged up almost anywhere where there is electricity available to run a charging station (so everywhere).
A hybrid vehicle like this would pay for itself in extra costs in only 3-5 years at the current gas prices, and gas prices are likely to continue going up for the foreseeable future. I will not at all be surprised if we see $4 or even $5 a gallon gas in 2019 and 2020.
Electric cars that have 400 miles of range with current battery technologies don't make much sense. They are too pricey for most Americans. I don't like gas powered cars either because they are subject to price fluctuations in gas prices and also require frequent checkups, inspections, and oil changes all of which EVs do not require. what would make a ton more sense is a hybrid vehicle with a 50 mile battery range and a backup generator to extend the range of the car hundreds of miles when needed. But 95% of the time the battery will be used since you are making short trips.
If money was no option, I would buy a used nissan leaf and fill it with batteries, but that's because I like electric vehicles. Nearly all of America can be served better with a hybrid vehicle with a 50 mile battery range and a backup generator to recharge the battery for those very rare times using a gas engine is needed.
Also, electric vehicles destroy explosion powered engines in acceleration. I frequently beat many compact cars in acceleration on my 3000w ebike and my vehicle is only 4 horsepower. The only thing that's holding back EVs right now is battery technology, because batteries right now absolutely suck compared to hydrocarbons in energy density.

Recently upgraded my monitor-setup and noticed that I only have 2 DisplayPort (DP) Cables !! I was missing one, dang it. Lol.
Sooo..... instead, two of my three monitors are running 60Hz whilst the third one however...., is running on 30Hz via HDMI
30Hz is so slow It's been AGES since I last experienced 30Hz haha

I used to be pretty active on the forum.
Than I got into ebikes instead.
It's kind of like I got bored of computers. There are only so many ways a computer can be built or taken apart, so I moved onto something else.
I also don't like dealing with DIY PCs that don't have the best compatibility in the world with other parts.
You do have to admit, if you go to best buy and get a dell or HP, you can be damn sure all the parts are gonna be fully compatible in that machine.

I'm upgrading my 1500w ebike to run at 3000w instead. All of this is because I got smoked by some dude with a moped a few weeks ago and I want to beat him .
His moped is 2.5 Horsepower. After i'm done, my ebike will be 4.32 Horsepower. Doesn't sound like much of a difference but on very small vehicles like these, it can make a HUGE difference. Mopeds are limited legally to 3.0 Horsepower maximum to be considered a moped, so this bike should absolutely smoke any commercial moped out there. If I didn't care about my tires, I could probably do burnouts on this thing.
Personally to me burnouts just says to me "I like to destroy things" rather than "look at how powerful my vehicle is" to me because you can easily eat a bike tire alive in a matter of minutes by trying to do burnouts.
Meet the newest member of my battery packs. The 72v 9AH battery.
Specs: 20S8P assorted 1.2AH power tool cells.
Maximum continuous discharge: Theoretical 160 amps. I will be running this at 45 amps.
I have chosen to use 12AWG copper wire for the busbar instead of 14AWG since we need the extra wire for more amps.
Car ATC fuses no longer cut it for this sort of load. I had to upgrade to a 60A mini ANL fusable link instead:
Also when I was assembling this battery, I got shocked multiple times and it REALLY hurt, next time i'll have to wear gloves. 72v isn't for messing around with, so I added this to the battery pack then changed the sign to make it funny:
Because only an idiot like me would build a 72v 9AH battery pack so he could run a hub motor at 3200w to go 45 miles per hour .

I would have to guess neither of them because I have to assume that this picture is of a cross-sectional view of both people in an airtight room. Otherwise water would leak out through any air gaps in the room on the right, then there would be no more water left. Thus, both of them will suffocate to death due to lack of oxygen.
How on earth did these two men even get inside these airtight rooms constructed out of bricks? Were they placed inside and a structure was built around them?

Ever felt like the new pc case releases have a lack of HDD cages in it, some just sport max 2 or 3 tops of the available mechanical 3.5" slots at best. comparatively the old cases had like 8 to 10, 6 at minimum in most cases.

Alrighty, I'm going to be taking a break from LTT and the internet at large, I've been on everything too much for the past few weeks, haven't been sleeping, etc. So I'm cutting back to what I consider the essentials (Discord and Steam pretty much), though I'll still answer and send out PMs on here. I may check in from time to time, but I won't be as active as I used to be. I'll try and focus on reading books and doing stuff instead of typing and looking at random stuff on the 'net.
So cya later y'all, and try not to tag me so much I have 1 million notifications when I do check in...
