XR6 reacted to Oshino Shinobu in People (mainly teenagers) mis using terms that we use in the computer field
Those damn teenagers.
It doesn't really matter though, does it? I'd spend more time worrying about the technological incompetence of those making laws and running the country rather than people misusing the word "hack", like they have been for years and years.

I enjoyed the BMW Video. Believe it or not, many of us are car enthusiasts. One of the most popular threads on the entire LTT forums is the Car thread.
Maybe you should sit down and not click on videos you arent interested in, instead of presuming to speak on behalf of over a million people that watched that video.
How dare people have more than 1 interest....

280k subs, 80k on most vids with the better ones going as high as 300k and the worse ones as low as 20k. Your point?

Tell her you'll have the place (and specifically the boxes) checked for fingerprints.
If she then admits she took it, break up with her, call the cops and press charges. You don't want to be with someone who steals from you whenever it suits her.
If she doesn't say anything, have the boxes checked for fingerprints and press charges against the thief no matter who it is. If it is her ... I guess you know what to do about the relationship.

Getting the whole thing in frame was kind of annoying and I'm no photographer.
I put heatsinks on the RAM.
Here's a view from the front. It's a 4U chassis. You can ignore the bottom server.
And of course. All those beautiful threads:

Don't watch the video then.
Someone with a successful YouTube channel with 1 million subscribers should know that not every subscriber watches every video uploaded to the channel.

XR6 reacted to RejZoR in Epic Games Store has started adding Cloud Save support to games
They can add all that shit, but for as long as they'll be doing that exclusivity bullshit, they are on my no shopping list. And if this exclusivity is the only way to get people to even shop in their store, then maybe they should reconsider their business practices and priorities.

I love how OP thinks that views and likes are the only things that make a video successful. As mentioned in another comment, BMW probably paid LMG multiple times what they earned in ad revenue from the 8K 60FPS video. If you don't like the video, don't watch it. It's as simple as that. I bet that if you had a multiple-million subscriber YouTube channel that is probably your only source of revenue, you would also choose a short and sweet sponsored video where you just read off a script rather than an original idea that takes time to plan, write, film, and edit, only to earn less money than a sponsored video.

Isn't the most watched video on LTT still the toy firetruck video? lol
If you don't want to watch something, news flash, you don't have to. No one is forcing you to. Plus it wasn't the only LTT video that day.
I for one, enjoy something different every once in awhile.

@LinusTech Hire this man. He has clearly cracked the YouTube "code". Hurry before Jay or Paul catch wind of his business acumen.

Unless you're working for LTT's PR department, why should you care about how many views his vids are getting or how much revenue each vid pulls in? It's YouTube, if you don't like the video, leave and move on. No one's forcing you to watch it.

XR6 reacted to Spotty in Is Linus unaware of what content type works?
Yeah, and anther example would be how bitwit occasionally posts a PC video on his lifestyle vlogging channel.
Doing the sponsored videos are what pay for the fun projects.
A video on BMW Self driving cars may not be LTTs normal stuff, but it does have a link to tech and lots of people are interested in self driving and electric vehicles. It's not as if they're fully departing from their theme and taking sponsorship deals to showcase Kylie Jenners new makeup line.

Newsflash @BleachFur :
Gaming at 8K with 2 million views makes $5000 from Adsense and a bunch more from affiliate links in the video or whatever
BMW pays Linux $10-20k to make the video.
(bogus numbers, out of my ass, could be way different)
Linus' only worry could be weighing if the revenue is worth the tiny drop in subscribers or complaints due to sponsored content.

you should compound arch yourself into a different thread because you completely missed the target here.

XR6 reacted to BleachedFur in Is Linus unaware of what content type works?
According to metrics:
Gaming at 8K 60fps - 2 million views after 3 days
BMW's Crazy Surprise - still less than 1 million views after 3 days
News flash Linus, your viewers don't give two flying fucks about BMW, 90% of your viewers are 14 year olds with craptops and fantasies about quad titan SLI. Your viewers also don't give two shits if BMW sponsored your video, I'll bet you my $3800 dual socket workstation that not a single person who watched that video thought "Hm, I should buy a BMW!".

XR6 reacted to Turtle Rig in 5700XT + 4770K bottleneck?
You can't play @4k with a 5700. Your lucky if you get 60fps then you will get drops to 30fps and so on. Your CPU is the bottleneck here. Can you overclock it, that would help a great deal. You can forget about 4k gaming my friend. You can just play at 1080p with high to ultra your choice, and you will get a sustained 60fps ,, not drops to 20fps like a 4k and even lower. The only card that can do a good job at 4k right now is the 2080Ti. It is made for 4k gaming, and the 5700 isn't.

XR6 reacted to MEC-777 in dog thread
Chillin in town surrounded by noises and distractions. A year ago, this was not even remotely possible with these two. It's incredible what proper training can do. And btw, they are not "tired" here. They're high-drive, high-energy dogs. With one release command, they will shoot up and start playing. They're simply relaxed and calm.
And when we get home from a walk, they wait in the car until released. They used to burst out the door and knock you over on the way, lol.
And BTW, I'm not sharing this to gloat or anything. I'm just very proud of the progress they've made and want everyone to understand, yes it is a lot of work, but it's not "difficult" to train them to be like this. It's a simple philosophy to follow, day to day, and it makes a massive difference.

For as long as the Super cards since they are the very same architecture.
To put into perspective Pascal 1000's series cards are 100% fully supported to this date.

Longevity wise it would be more effected by the temperature of the environment it's in and the power quality itself coming from the wall.

It's cool to have some diverse content. Not every video needs to be something you like!
It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.
