Some old XP 32-bit drivers can work in 64-bit windows 10. It doesn't hurt to try it

I'm currently writing this on a Lenovo Legion Y530, basically the same as a Dell G3, but much more stylish and toned down IMO. Dave Lee has a video about, if you would like to check it out.

Download something like Unigine Heaven or Furmark and run it for at least 15-30 mins up to 24 hours. Come back and check for any artifacting.

The reason that you aren't getting as good of an overclock as some other people is because your chip isn't as good as theirs, you can't really do much more unless you want to blow $500+ on a custom loop

It's not because the CPU is bad, it's the shitty optimization

C1intFunWood reacted to Skiiwee29 in I just got the craziest idea - Ice block watercooling
I dont think it would work. When you get that extreme cold, things can and do become brittle and fragile. Also you run the risk of actual water condensation on the board as it is cooling down and freezing.

C1intFunWood reacted to arch_linuxos in How BAD i did?
Well that CPU is definitely a bottleneck. Maybe what you can do is this:

    1. Return the GPU for store credit.
    2. With credit, buy an i5 6400 and cheap LGA1151 H110 motherboard.
    3. Buy a GTX 960 or 970.

You'll have to check and make sure the prices all work out, but I think that's the best option.

Lovin' this thread. Get the most useless/impractical GPU available for purchase, and cool in in the most impractical way possible, so that you can overclock it for absolutely no reason other than because you can.

The first think is with the build you show and the budget of around 2000 you can build 2 faster systems for cheaper.

Id strongly suggest that you get 2 separate systems. Its not worth the hassle to have to death with non hotswap usb devices.

Here is a faster build, just get 2 of them. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/6qqKBP

Crossfire or sli probably won't work.
You wouldnt have a pcie bottleneck as you have 80 lanes total.

TBH, pick a case that isn't too cheap and fits your standards and that looks good, you can never go bad with any case made by big brands such as Corsair, Fractal Design, Coolermaster, etc.

C1intFunWood reacted to junhawng in Would my cpu bottleneck the 1080
I think, any modern cpu from this era probably won't bottleneck GPU's to an extent that will be noticeable. Sure, it will be slower than a i7 but unless the game you are playing is very intensive on the CPU, it should be fine.

C1intFunWood got a reaction from junhawng in Would my cpu bottleneck the 1080
The FX-8350 will fair quite well with many games, but once you start playing unoptimized games that don't support multi-threading very well or just CPU intense games, you'll notice slightly lower amount of performance (ie. Arma 3).
