Ice cooled GT710

Well its a bit of a slow card and it runs passive stock speed is 954mhz ihave oc'ed it on air with a 120mm fan blowing over and it got to 42c max. this was at 1375ish mhz so now i want to cool it more. 

 

first off i am not recommending this as a 24/7 thing i am benching for this competition http://oc-esports.io/#!/round/cheapaz_chips_s1/3025/gpupi_1b

 

Now to make the pot all i did was put artist eraser on the stock heatsink in a way that i can put ice in the top without it leaking out all over the motherboard.

so these are the temps once i boot into windows. this is 3 ice cubes

then as i started to run gpu pi they climb up as the water and heatsink warm up

i let it get to 30c before putting a couple more ice cubes in and as you can see max temps on this run were 30c with ice cubes bringing it back down to 26c under full load.

the current ambient temp of the room is 28c so this is quite hot. i think in winter i could get idle very close to 0c and load around 5c :D 

i am testing further now as it froze as i was taking the final screenshot. i also need to work out what my max clocks are on the ice cooling.

Lovin' this thread. Get the most useless/impractical GPU available for purchase, and cool in in the most impractical way possible, so that you can overclock it for absolutely no reason other than because you can.

 

10/10 would recommend

as you can see i went up just 25mhz but it made a decent difference. this is now +500mhz over stock speeds. i was only 1 second behind the guy in front so i am now well ahead of him. the next guy up is at 7mins 18s with 1534mhz, his card has a northbridge air cooler on it and is volt modded, so it might be tricky to beat him.

i Have now got rid of the card and i am buying another one which i might volt mod as well this time. :) 

 

also check out some of the cooling that other people used. there was one guy using 1/2 a bottle as a dice pot :P
