Snipergod87 got a reaction from Flamebug in AMD A10-5700
Because it is 2 modules with 4 threads.  If both threads need to use the FPU they will be competing for resources like hyperthreading, as opposed to 2 real cores where they will each have their own resources.  I imagine Windows does this to help better optimize what processes go on what cores/threads

All 6 cores will not run at 4.7Ghz unless you enable multi core enhancement in the BIOS, you may need to bump up CPU voltage as well.
To get an accurate temp readout using liquid cooling you need to run the stress test for 30 mins to an hour.

Depending on what you are trying to do you might be better off with like a RX550 or GT1030 as opposed to old tech

Snipergod87 got a reaction from Crunchy Dragon in what is the expectancy of the power watts needed for 1180ti?
Probably 550-650watts for the PSU, total system pull should be less than 500 for a single GPU
No reason to return it unless you want to save some money keep in mind you will need to pay a re stocking fee

They have windows software that gives you an interface to manage this in your os.

But why are you running a raid array on this, this is a hba, you really shouldn't use this for raid.

Download the megaraid storage manager here https://www.broadcom.com/support/download-search Punch in the poduct info.

No reason to touch firmware, but it won't affect the array at all, as the array is all on the disks.

Snipergod87 got a reaction from kriptcs in Does the Ryzen 7 2700X come with thermal paste?
If it comes with the stock cooler it comes with paste pre-applied to the stock cooler.

If you are getting an aftermarket cooler the thermal paste comes with the after market cooler

If you can, i wouldn't take 4x4, go with 2x8, support is a lot better, but 4 slots has a higher chance of causing you issues than 2 slots.

You reinstalled Windows that 35GB used is Windows and your page file.

    Theres nothing wrong here.

The reason why your drive isnt shown as 500GB has to do with the difference between marketing terms and actual capacity.

    Marketing says 1000MB =1GB
But in actuality 1024MB=1GB, all that adds up to quite alot

Snipergod87 got a reaction from Funkemonkey in Options for a NAS to use as a Backup
You dont need ECC ram, it is just recommended, but I wouldn't plan a FreeNAS build without 8GB of ram is a starting point.

If you do W7 + Raid 6 do you have a RAID controller capable of doing that?
If you are only using 4 drives and no plan to expand use RAID 10 instead.

Not really no, NVMe is faster but you won't really notice it in day to day usage compared to a good SATA SSD, unless you really hit things hard

Snipergod87 reacted to iRileyx in Why the low fps?
Seems to be a RAM issue, you say you have 8gb but the overlay is showing 9.5gb being used, meaning its having to use your page file.
That'll cause massive drops in performance.

Snipergod87 got a reaction from Lenovo1984 in Homegroup help
I didn't know people used home group or that that removed it, thats kinda lame..
You can just add your NAS as a network share, thats how it was typically done, if the share is password protected just use the cred's for the NAS box.

Sadly damage caused by the end user is not covered by warranties.
Sounds like you broke the glass substrate, so you would need to buy a whole new panel which may be extremely difficult to find, I would say try ebay or alibaba, this is not something you will be able to find in your standard run of the mill online stores.

If you disassemble the screen you might find a model number for the panel which could help in searching online

How much if your page file being used?  I would still suspect the RAM, around 80% RAM usage windows starts heavily sending data in RAM to the disk,

Most likely insufficent RAM, you have a great CPU and great GPU but really lacking in the RAM dept.
It the textures your game needs arent in your GPU's RAM it will go to system RAM, but 8GB isnt alot for a game + OS + background applications, so if its not in system RAM it goes to disk which can cause short freezes
