LG Monitor spectacular fail

DarthSmartt

I have the LG 34UC89G-B ultrawide curved monitor. Because it is bezelless, you have to hold onto the screen while you adjust the hight, tilt etc. However, the internal display itself cracked and gave me some beautiful rainbow lines to look at as i cry on my knees. It is still under warrenty for "Parts and Labor" but Lg screwed me over and said that they wont fix it because it is physical damage. (Why would they say they cover parts and labor for one year then?) So now I have to either sell it or fix it. Does anyone know where i can find a new display for it? or any parts for that matter?

Sadly damage caused by the end user is not covered by warranties.

Sounds like you broke the glass substrate, so you would need to buy a whole new panel which may be extremely difficult to find, I would say try ebay or alibaba, this is not something you will be able to find in your standard run of the mill online stores.

If you disassemble the screen you might find a model number for the panel which could help in searching online

The thing with it was there was barely any pressure and it just cracked.

thats the issue with people wanting lighter and thinner displays but it should be bigger and bigger, stability becomes a big issue.
