xenic got a reaction from Kilrah in HDD's detected in OS but not BIOS
It was enabled, but had to also change the option 'Launch Storage OpROM Policy' to 'Legacy Only'.
This seems to have solved my issue.

    Many thanks!

I have experience with the brand, but not with particular waterblock.
They offer quality products and I would recommend them

That executable file is there for when you need to use USB Flashback. You only need to use USB flashback if your UEFI firmware becomes corrupt and you need to re-flash it, even if your system won't POST. There should be a special USB port on your motherboard for this purpose, and the file needs to have a special name for it to be flashed, which is what the BIOSRenamer.exe file is for, it will automatically rename the UEFI firmware file to the correct name so that USB Flashback will work.

If you are just updating your UEFI firmware normally, then you do not need to worry about renaming that file or running that BIOSRenamer.exe file.

3200&3600 are equivalent timings, 4000 cl19 is better (10ns vs 9.5ns using basic memory calculations)

@fabafaba @xenic Yeah it seems like the logical decision, just wanted to hear from some more experienced builders (since it's my first custom loop). I already ordered a bunch of soft tube compression fittings for the back.
    Thanks for your input!

I don't see the point of hard tubing in the back, as you can't see it. And in my opinion it makes maintenance (and cable management) easier.

Then you should be fine with playing tarkov. Not to say those games go over well with tarkov because tarkov is its own game entirely. But it seems you are used to being infuriated by how hard things can be in those games...youll do well in tarkov.

If you dont have friends i can recommend a community on discord called We Are Borg. They have a looking for group tab on their channel just join that and im sure players will join. I use it pretty often

I would first get the standard edition and see how you like it then you can always upgrade. I went from standard to the top tier edition after almost a year of playing. It was well worth it.

As far as I can see, you won't have room for it.

You'll have 2 psu's installed (1 for your main system and 1 for your nas).
And assuming you will use the top bay for your HDD's leaves you little to no space.
Cramming a micro ATX motherboard in there will be tight, if not impossible.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of a dual system build but this isn't the case for it.

xenic got a reaction from Ben17 in Ryzen Micro ATX with ECC
I'm planning to build a small NAS for business/home use (storage, backups, streaming,...) without breaking the bank.
    It needs:
    - micro atx
    - 8gb ram with ECC-support

I'm having trouble picking out the parts. I've been looking at the Asrock 320 en 350 motherboards which have ECC support.
Now I'm looking for compatible ram and ryzen cpu.

    Any recommendations?

If the 980ti isn’t, they won’t be compatible.

And a bit of a teaser. I’m still drinking on how I’m gonna mount the gpu... but it will be raised up a fair bit I think In order to accommodate a 90degree fitting to go to the cpu with only one bend.

Yes, it'll run at the highest speed the board supports and the module has an SPD entry for.

I have 3200MHz ram running at 2933MHz which is what my motherboard supports.

Yes the particles in pastel can settle or precipitate out if things turn really bad but with proper preparation and cleaning every 12 months max it's usually not a problem. Primochill Vue is very abrasive as a fluid since it contains a mica mineral to give it that shimmer, some have had blocks frost over and fittings erode away the paint or plating.

For Pastel I've been able to keep a system using Ice Dragon's original pastel fluid for over 18 months without much issue other than slight darkening of the fluid so it's possible to keep it long term.

I've seen some nasty residue in the blocks in some of Jay's videos. Funny enough the blocks somehow were cleaned by Primochill's Vue. In a different system it ate away some of the black finish in some parts.

    @xenic
Keep in mind: opaque fluids need more service and can gunk up your system. You need to have an eye on that.

That's pretty much the same 'problem' that I have.

I've decided not to change anything for now and just enjoy it. When the time comes to change the fluid, I'll either change the fluid or the tubing (to uv), or both even. Thanks for the help

xenic got a reaction from W-L in More visible coolant?
I'd prob change the coolant in a couple of months to something else + it would be cheaper than buying 6+ new white fans.
I've read about the Primochill Vue stuff. I don't feel like clogging up my loop.
UV would do the trick in terms of 'wow'-effect.
    Maybe even UV tubes.

    Thanks for the hellp.
