KSores reacted to Catalyst429 in Mushkin Enhanced ECO2 2.5" 512GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDEC512GB
So 7 years later, I have one of these SSDs that I got from an IT company I used to work at. It has almost 9000 hours, and 400TB written to the drive over its lifetime. It was used for a ton of different things and now I just have games on it. I cannot kill this thing. It wont produce any errors and I thought it would die years ago. Maybe I hit the silicon lottery with it but it has been incredibly reliable for what it is. I even used it for Chia mining (crypto mining that uses drives instead of GPUs) trying to kill it for 2 years before I put it in my gaming rig lmao.

KSores reacted to Raawmeat in If Noctua made a case.
I know its a risky move with a full Noctua themed build but i have wanted it for so long just not been sure how to execute it.
The Parts are my old ones:
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C
Mobo: Asus Prime z370 -p
CPU: Intel 8600k
GPU: Gigabyte 1080 windforce
PSU: Corsair RM650x
Ram: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000Mhz CL15 Vengeance
Cooler NH-D15
Accessories: Cooler Master Vertical GPU holder + Risercard
A rough idea in photoshop and some ideas later this is the sketch of how i wanted it at the end. (No im not that good with photoshop, i know)
First off to see how the colors match and a small mod to the power button.
Then its off to paint the rest off the parts and puck it back together.
And for a complete look with some noctua fans.

KSores reacted to Vishera in 240hz or 1440p 144hz
Some people can't see the difference between 144Hz to 240Hz,but it depends on your experience.
I think the sweet spot is a 1440p 144Hz display.

KSores got a reaction from Ramotovski in Should i get a 144Hz monitor???
i play competitive overwatch a lot. i bought a 1080p 144hz monitor and it actually makes a huge difference, i never thought a monitor could actually make me better
i wouldn't get a 1440p 144hz with a gtx 1060, i have a 1080 and mine is 1080p and i wouldn't want to go higher res
but for shooter games 144hz monitors really give you a advantage

KSores reacted to Cereal5 in Liquid Cooler Compatibility
Yes it is, it says so on the manufacturer's website. However there are better coolers you can get for the money. Single fan radiators are generally not recommended.

if you aren't running a solid state drive that is a pretty simple upgrade that can make a huge difference

KSores reacted to KarathKasun in I made a partition and installed linux on the wrong drive
After booting from the Ubuntu media, do the following to remove the UEFI partition...
Use "Try Ubuntu" instead of "Install Ubuntu".
After it loads, click "Activities" in the top left corner.
Type "gparted" into the search box and click the "gparted" icon that appears
Delete offending partition by highlighting it and clicking on the red "no" circle.
Save the changes by clicking the green checkmark.
Click "apply" when asked if you are sure.
Reboot.

Sorry for the "just Google it", but Diskpart usage can be quite complex and would probably be best learned from a website with a full tutorial with images and explanations.
