If Noctua made a case.

I know its a risky move with a full Noctua themed build but i have wanted it for so long just not been sure how to execute it.

 

The Parts are my old ones:

 

Case: Fractal Design Meshify C 

Mobo: Asus Prime z370 -p

CPU: Intel 8600k

GPU: Gigabyte 1080 windforce 

PSU: Corsair RM650x

Ram: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000Mhz CL15 Vengeance

Cooler NH-D15

Accessories: Cooler Master Vertical GPU holder + Risercard

 

A rough idea in photoshop and some ideas later this is the sketch of how i wanted it at the end. (No im not that good with photoshop, i know) 

 

First off to see how the colors match and a small mod to the power button.

 

 

 

 

 

Then its off to paint the rest off the parts and puck it back together.

 

 

 

 

 

And for a complete look with some noctua fans.

Time to put some parts in there 

 

 

 

 

Time to mod that GPU. Made a metal bracket that screws in to the heatsink. 

 

 

 

And final look with a cover over the fans for the GPU.

TBH I don't actually "care" but if I were to pay that much for a fan, then I kind of do care what it looks like.  As I say this tho, none of my PCs are side window for a reason...I don't really care lol.

 

So maybe I care a lot less than I actually think I do, and am just a cheap bastard lolol

I have a NH D 15 cooler with the brown fans lol and no chromax clip on covers lol

I personally have never minded what it looks like as long as it cools my CPU well

And if anyone was wondering about the new gpu temps after the mod

i just lowered the rpm until i was at the old max with its curve so its at a constant ~1200rpm and not going over 76 when under full load.

How much quieter is it? Also not sure if it's just me but the two top exhausts look a bit off to me... If I were you I would probably just put one fan on the rear and close the top moduvent, the airflow path seem to make more sense to me that way haha.

If they did make cases they would probably be really good quality.

I bought a fan from them for the first time and was blown away at how much nicer it seemed then other brand names.

Even the packaging and extra stuff it came with was better.

There was never anything wrong with the color of Noctuas fans, it was just that nothing else matched.

 

This is a taste of what things could look like if other brands picked up the color scheme.

You should make a couple custom 'caps' / 'covers' for the D15 heatsink. or maybe just a simple painted acrylic, or colored plastic cut out that fits snug onto the ends of the heatpipes, just to cover most of the aluminium.

I did rufly the same thing maby look into a arctic accelero cooler, I have the same card and temps have dropped to max 57c at 1000rpm

Super cool build. I admire your dedication to getting this done. Having tried to paint numerous things to match all sorts of other things over the years, I know how much of a pain it can be to come out with something that actually looks good.

Around 11 years ago I was going to do a sponsored build for Noctua, using two Area 51 cases. I actually made these panels, but when the paint arrived it was totally the wrong colours and yeah it might not have happened...

 

 

But yeah, this has needed to happen for a veeeery long time.
