Elehat got a reaction from just tilt in Changing from console to PC
Greetings:
1) If you're not going 4k (or even then) you can get a perfectly capable machine for far less; don't waste your money.
2) The OS refers to your operating system (i.e. windows, linux etc.); it's not the same thing as your hardware.

Great case for lots of RGB! I might get a hue+ as well while you're at it. If it's purely for gaming, 7700k is great. You could probably save some money on the motherboard and storage, which is probably much more than you need. Also the x62 is about as expensive as AIOs get, though it is pretty bling. PSU is the one part I wouldn't trouble for RGB,

Elehat got a reaction from cj09beira in ~500-600€ upgrade
wouldn't recommend this. Not sure of relative costs in Finland or your use case, but an amd 1600 would give you cheaper more threads, which you can overclock. I'd be tempted to spend more on the psu; if you're oging corsair try to get a new cx series at least, though evga, superflower and seasonic have good options too. The case is budget and I'd also consider spending more here too. In return I might get 8Gb ram and a ryzen 1600.

They need to go ahead and partner with some case manufacturers to produce cases with good built in solutions at a decent price.
Fractal sounds like a good choice.

Gonna be difficult for £2.50. I'd recommend stealing as your most realistic option.

Elehat got a reaction from Zando_ in 4k Aimed Build
The cost of the cpu cooler is probably more than the difference between a 7600k and a 7700k
There is probably a cheaper z mobo that doesn't have sli (the idea of doing sli later is not a good one)
You may want to consider a 250gb ssd plus a large harddrive
PSU is decent, though in this price range it'd be nice to see an evga g2/3 or a corsair RM. You don't need 750w.
What is Asus ROG SupremeFX as 'other'? I know it as part of their motherboards. If you are planning to buy a sound card, don't bother.
There are cheaper 1070s, though a 1080 might be better on 4k. I'd get one of the cheaper 1080s and save money elsewhere, such as mobo and storage.
400c is a good case, but you probably don't need so many fans.

Get a better PSU like the CX450M, this one is sketchy af

Elehat got a reaction from ArduinoBen in Mega Budget gaming PC Opinion
you could save some money with an matx motherboard instead of an itx one, as you're building in an matx case. Also ddr3 ram ddr4 mobo wtf? If you get the cheapest mobo available for the socket, you could switch up to the 1505/460 an get a better psu maybe?

Elehat got a reaction from XR6 in Smallest case that will fit a 1080ti hybrid
linus did a dancase a4 but that's not got room for a 120mm. Other than that there's an ncase m1 which is rediculously small for something that can fit a 240mm rad, or on the budget end a silverstone sg-13 is super small too, and can fit a 120+full gpu or 140 + itx gpu

Don't we get to see a pic of the build?

Elehat got a reaction from ProjectBox153 in Experiences with non-techies
I work as a statistical modeller. This happened this month (April 2017) with a work colleague.
He gets a new phone (Huawei p10). Has USB-C connection.
He forgets connector on first day in. Gets angry because none of the office computers have type c ports.
Goes out to Maplin, buys a USB-C to A cable. Holds it up and proclaims (not in jest) "THIS IS THE F**KING FUTURE!"
I facepalm, and show him the latest article on anandtech, which happens to be the Optane P4800X SSD (sorry I couldn't think of something more original, but hey).
He claims he has one in his laptop (must have seen 'SSD' in the title). Sad times.

yeah, swap out the psu for the cx450m if you have the budget, otherwise it looks pretty good.

Elehat got a reaction from PRATAP in CPU Suffix U, T, P, E, K
https://ark.intel.com/
Yeah it tells you the platform (mobile or desktop), the power usage and the ability to overclock.
T variants are lower power consumption and lower clock speeds, k is overclockable, and may have higher out of box clock speeds too. Both are desktop parts.

Elehat got a reaction from Slazyel in New GPU, what's the best bang for the buck?
That would be my second choice. If you really value all the extra Nvdia stuff then that wouldn't be bad either.

Imo it's MSI 480 4GB for $272
