~500-600€ upgrade

Underi

I'm going to vocational school in autumn and we get all our parts VAT free from the biggest component importer in Finland. That means it's 24% cheaper for me to buy components. I'm getting 100€ a month, and have saved 150€ already, so I'm getting about 450 euros by then, and I can probably borrow some from my father or mother. I'm going to keep my storage devices and my GPU, since a GTX 970 can run pretty much anything on 1080p 60fps on high-ultra settings. I was thinking about something like this:

please get a better power supply, the corsair VS isn't good. an XFX TS, seasonic eco or CX450/M shouldn't be too much more but are much better in quality. rest look fine to me, but i'd get 2400mhz ram if they're around the same price.

wouldn't recommend this. Not sure of relative costs in Finland or your use case, but an amd 1600 would give you cheaper more threads, which you can overclock. I'd be tempted to spend more on the psu; if you're oging corsair try to get a new cx series at least, though evga, superflower and seasonic have good options too. The case is budget and I'd also consider spending more here too. In return I might get 8Gb ram and a ryzen 1600.

If you make a post contradicting mine that doesn't directly address my claims, or cites 'facts' without evidence, I'm probably not going to bother responding to it, because you probably didn't bother reading my post properly, and because life is too short. It doesn't mean I don't have an answer for you. It means I'm not dignifying you with a response.

the 7700 is still better for gaming only even if he overclocks the 1600.

@Memorizer @Justux204 I don't understand what is so bad abut that PSU? It is the most popular one on Jimm's( The importer).

I currently have 16GB of DDR3, so I'm kinda used to having many tabs open on chrome and at the same time playing games lag-free. The reason I want to upgrade is faster rendering with Premier Pro where Ryzen would excel, another reason is arma 3, and sad thing about it is that it doesn't utilize many cores that well.

the psu is bad quality, not meant to power up hardware like a gtx 970. get a single 8gb stick instead of 2x4gb.

Well, if it has 650 watts, why would it not be meant for high-end GPUs? I don't want to spend 500 euros on a PSU just so that it lasts a little longer.

because wattage =/= quality. the VS is meant for low-end office pcs where it would never go near 650w under load, it's made with inferior components that won't last very long with a gaming rig. and we're not telling you to get top-end power supplies, i've pointed out some decent budget units that shouldn't cost alot more but are much better, see if your retailers have those.

You can get way better build quality PSU for same money. Chose from these Seasonic M12II 620W, Corsair CX650M GREY LABEL, EVGA B3 This year edition all of them are aroun ~50-60$. And you will be fine for long time. And PSU is like your Heart you don't wanna be greedy on it
