I would say sounds like it... directly send it back as DOA... no working gimme working NAO!

This refurbished bull**** is getting worse and worse... but it's cheaper and faster than checking and fixing your original board, which will be done also and send off to another costumer.

    As an edit...

I not so long ago bought a Asrock Z87 Extreme mobo as replacement for the broken Abit Fatal1ty FP In 9 Sli (which I will repair when I feel like doing it, need to get a new soldering iron first), it was a DOA as well. I ordered that with a 4th gen I5, which is exactly what that board was made for. But no matter what, the postcode said "no cpu installed"... So I sent it back as DOA, as well as the CPU, now here in europe there is an excellent what I call "Hardware Höker" called Alternate, they have a good repair team as well. So after a week gone I had the board back fixed and running.

They found out that both bioses a and b were both corrupt. They fixed that and all was well.

The 6950x is a terrible fucking deal for how much you pay for it. You can shell out an extra hundred bucks and get the 2699 v4 which will absolutely rape the 6950x in nearly every single rendering scenario.

@Juggernaught I would personally hold out for Ryzen's launch to get some non-AMD benchmarks to see if the 1800x holds true, because if it does it'll be a fantastic bargain.

Watch that video podcast I posted, hopefully that will help clear up the rules.

You may want to consider building a quad or tri for that kind of work. Something that can be faster, but still fly for a long time. If it's big enough, you can wire two large batteries together for double the capacity and potentially an hour of flight time. If not, I think I would choose the inspire.

The projects listing page lists the time of the preferred turnaround time as well as the deadline (the point at which they pass it to someone else and you get no credit), just look at your summary screen for the WU, get the project #, and look it up in this table: http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html

As for running it for a set amount of time every day, the faster you turn a work unit in, the more points you get for it.  If you pause your system, you increase the time until the final result is delivered, and hence your credit will be lower than it otherwise would have been.

But if you want some way of limiting how much folding your system does, You could, for example, schedule your system to start FAHControl at 4am every day, and then press the FINISH or PAUSE button when you get up in the morning.  I'm pretty sure there are commands to automate it, but I am not familiar with them.

You can pause the WU as I have done several times.  It usually waits until you proceed again.  You will usually lose some credit on that WU, but if you pause long enough I THINK that work unit will be reassigned and you will lose any credit you may have on it.

    No you

No, you can fold with both CPU & GPU, but for the amount of power your CPU takes its not worth the PPD you receiver.  Especially compared to your GPU.

For example on my system 5930k and a 980ti I went in and changed my CPU to only use 5 threads instead of 11 (leaving one to help with GPU).  This made a 100 Watt difference in my power consumption.  My CPU averages around 10-20k PPD whereas my GPU bounces from 200-700k depending on work unit.

So really your CPU just doesn't do near as much when compared to your GPU so no reason to run it at 100% especially if you have temperature problems.  With 5 threads on the CPU i am around 47 degrees C with 11 threads I was at 70 degrees C.  GPU at 100% runs at 58-60 degrees C.
