Toxicknight79 got a reaction from astrosheen in Getting PC components over time vs one time buy
one could argue buying over time is the lesser desired route because you get this part, then that part and the plan dfor this build got changed because well something newer cooler and cheaper had shown up. I did the buy over time thing wound up costing me more in the long run because i just had to change things as the ideas changed , you also might have those parts sit on your shelf untested and then by the time you get them all put it together then discover a problem something was dead on arrival and you waited too long for the return and have to deal with manufacture RMA, and all that hassle. I guess if it were me now, buy all at once. but Isee both sides of this debate so, I understand either way.
if your goin to college you might want to Not get an expensive Video card and save the cash for the ramen noodles. I heard the GTX1060 outperforms the GTX780 (no personal experience so as others before confirming this) why not just replace the card with something like that.?

Toxicknight79 got a reaction from STRMfrmXMN in CM Force 500, PSU
honestly I don't trust cooler master PSU's never tried them but given a past reputation for going snap crackle pop with the mother boards and all your pc ,, doesn't sit well with me. the included ones with cases are Low budget psus subpar to even the ones they sell alone.
I think @STRMfrmXMN 's list is pretty much the standard opinion of people. i know i agree with it.

Is there possibly a rootkit running?

Toxicknight79 reacted to GoZone in PC is stuttering. GUI,Audio,Games etc.
Try installing without drivers than install each one separate and see which one is the verdict. Before you do that make sure you updated the drivers.

Could be a certain driver you have installed. My friend had a problem with an ALPS driver, kept hanging his computer. Uninstalled it, and now it's gone.

Why not just save your cash for Zen + Polaris? Would be better than going crossfire, and/or getting an FX 9000 series chip.

Toxicknight79 reacted to Hackentosher in What is the speaker header for on my motherboard?
It's only purpose is to tell you when your board posts. You usually use them when you are first building your rig and you build it outside the case and you don't have a monitor to see the video output your board or GPU is outputting.

Toxicknight79 got a reaction from Who Leo in Motherboard Chipset
but thats the thing they charging you 30 bucks extra for overclockability ,, so yes the chipset is Z170 not H170 they are different. but everything else ,, is the same except I could be mistaken here but h170 does not support SLI? I thought i read something about that sometime back.

Toxicknight79 got a reaction from sissj in i am building a custom laptop
Satisfy my curiosity, a custom build laptop? that stuff is usually too proprietary to build. even if you could find the motherboard more than likely it wont fit into another chassis.

Toxicknight79 got a reaction from Flashie in Can someone help me with my question?
Actually Its hard to say really if it will be as simple as that , you'll have the old drivers and registries for said drivers chipset, about everything will need to be properly uninstalled then your new drivers installed , I had a pc that wouldnt boot into windows when I added a drive with a preinstalled OS. had to format and start over. but usually you can boot in safe mode. to do the driver uninstalls

Toxicknight79 reacted to shibbs in Glass tubing build
The only benefits of glass is that it's clearer, and it will not stain or scratch as easily, and is compatible with every coolant commercially available.
Benefits of PETG are that it's really easy to work with, is more forgiving, is able to be bent (saving money on fittings) and is cheaper.
Acrylic is cheaper yet and slightly more compatible with coolants than PETG, but can be brittle (not REALLY a big deal in a case) and is slightly more difficult to bend than PETG. It is also more clear than PETG, but not as clear as glass.

Toxicknight79 got a reaction from ion529 in BIOS Question, Haswell Refresh and Chipsets
well the Bios can be Flashed ,,, basically deleting the Bios or UEFI from the *Rom* (which technically is NOT read only , but I know what you meant) * and replacing it with an updated bios version.
chipset is basically The motherboards Function firmware. controlling the video output, PCI-Express lanes, Basically it is the highway intersection
to save me being confusing about explaining the chip set I took this from PCmag.

are you sure its the processor ,, being as there are no moving parts in the die of a cpu unless theres a gremlin trying to escape it lol. more than likely CPU fan is the issue

Toxicknight79 reacted to Moonzy in Looking for SFF Cases that have decent watercooling capabilities.
i dont think the nano S can have 2 of these radiators in at the same time, correct me if im wrong
why not just go mid tower? dual 240mm rad requires a case almost as big as a mid tower anyway
edit:
you also need a place for your reservoir and this video shows that there isnt much room if you plan on putting a decent gpu in it lol

Toxicknight79 reacted to W-L in Electrical wiring in house
If the plugs are two pronged and you see a ground wire just hooked up to the metal basing or box you could get an electrician to replace the outlet with a grounded 3 prong one, as all the wires are already there the task isn't too hard. Depending on your electrical code and your know how some let you do it yourself if it's just a light fixture or plug since your not pulling new wire.
The electronics need to be grounded it's more of a safety thing since an electrical charge can build up like on the metal case or something could do wrong and short to the metal of a PSU for example.

I didn't mean it would cause the leak,,, i should have been more clear, i meant to say that it can expose the card if a leak should happen. Apologies for the confusion.
