Thats not a modem. Firstly fiber doesn't use a modem, it uses a media converter. Secondly what you have their is a gateway. A Media converter / router. If you did NOT put the gateway in bridge mode and your using one of the EERO mesh devices as a router, you effectively have two routers in the mix. That means your double NAT'ed. You need to figure out how to put their gateway in to bridge mode, as I dont know if putting the EERO is not AP mode will work with Mesh mode.

Firstly to psychically protect your debit card dont use it at sketchy places. Where I live we have ass holes who put skimmers on card readers to steal card info. The best way to beat them..... Dont use any ATM outside the ones at the Bank your card was issued. Also things like Google Pay and Apple Pay can also help protect your card as physical retailers and sometimes online. I choose to use Paypal when buying online, they act as middle man to make sure your card details are not given to the retailer.

As far as steam is concerned, do they not have Steam Gift cards in India? OR do they have prepaid Visa/Master card cards? The prepaid cards work in the US, and you can buy credit to put on your steam wallet and purchase games that way. While these cards dont work for everything such as Subscription services, they can work for buying stuff.

Also what kind of protections does your bank provide? Here in the US banks are pretty proactive when it comes to people stealing money. My bank TCF has no issue turning a debit card off and contacting the account holder if they believe charges are fraudulent. Also Card issues like Visa and Mastercard also provide protections. Do you guys use the Chip system? Is is it purely magnetic strip? OH if your card has RFID, it might be best to cover it in aluminum foil when not in use, this stops people from stealing info from in your pocket. Like I said, card fraud is an issue here in the US, you have to be proactive about stopping it.

Could be an issue at a peering point. Might be a signal issue (signal marginal going in to the Xfinity gateway). Could be congestion on the Xfinity network. Could be physical damage of a cable or connection inside or outside the house.

First thing Id do is check all the coax connections and sure they are firmly tight. Second thing Id do is reboot the Xfinity gateway. 3rd thing Id do check the signal stats and make sure they are with in spec.

    Compare signals to this

If anyone is still interested, here is a little update:

As some of you suggested, it seems that after seeing the initial results, I was over-motivated and pushing my body too hard without enough rest and nutrition to go along with it.

I've decided to reduce the calorie deficit a bit, which means I'm eating more, but I'm still in a deficit. I also started taking body measurements and regular photos to keep track of my progress. And in general, most of the advice you guys and gals gave me was correct. I have lost another 12 pounds since posting the thread, while at the same time visibly gaining a lot more muscle, and there is a continuous downward trend in my body measurements, showing a loss of body fat.

I have also cut back from training 6 times a week with 1 off day to a 3 day routine, but with harder workouts. That means cardio on day 1, weight training on day 2, and just rest on day 3, then cardio again, and so on. Not only does this give my body more time to recover, but it also fits better into my daily routine.

So no, I didn't permanently damage my metabolism by crash dieting. Still, I overdid it, cut back a bit, and everything is fine.

My advice is to talk to your primary healthcare provider. They will have a better idea whats safe to put in to your body. At least in the US many of these "Supplements" are not regulated and you cant be 100% sure what they put in them and what they will do to you.

We just downgraded to 150/20 from 500/20. It was a $30 savings. Comcast already wants your first born child every month so giving them $30 less a month seemed like a good deal. The way I figured is it takes about 25 Mbps per 4K Netflix stream and we dont do any 4K content sooooooo, 150 Mbps should be enough for us. Sure my games download slower but I dont game that much anyway.

Donut417 reacted to Lurking in Anti Competitive Practices with contractors/electricians/plumbers/etc
I do agree they should be able to say "if X, Y, and Z are in place it is $900 and any additional thing we need to do is $150/hour plus material".

But they probably had bad experience with people forgetting about the additional cost and then insisting on the base quote price.

Ultimately the market is what it is. I do commercial plumbing design and #1 complaint from every company and association is lack of apprentices, no replacement for Boomer retirements or any other usable help. If you are young and not the college type, but still have intelligence, you really should do an electrician or plumbing apprenticeship. You will make loads of cash (and that before work on the side) and will never be unemployed. Hard to make predictions about jobs and population, but SKILLED trades being in very short supply is a given (unless people learn to live without indoor plumbing). Your work can't be outdourced, and when the toilet doesn't work, the plumber at Tesla is more important than Elon Musk.

I'll ride Windows 7 into the ground. I used to be all in on Windows 10 but when they started adding the AI tools and stuff like 8 months ago I downgraded most of my machines back to Windows 7 Ultimate. It runs faster, is stabler, and can do most things Windows 10 can.
They should offer a bullshit-less version of Windows. I've see a growing dissatisfaction among people, not just tech-minded individuals, regarding Windows's increasing bloatedness - maybe make Windows 11 Pro free of garbage? I feel like they'd bring MORE users that way.

To be honest the things you mention dont bother me that bad. BUT the fact they are trying to push ads on us does. I HATE ads and I wont be a part of this stupidity. I generally turn off this type of bullshit. I do agree however that if there are things like Game Bar, you should be able to uninstall those features or at least disable them.

As far as Office is concerned I wont sub to it, I have enough subs as it is. I use Google for my productivity needs. As far as the Microsoft account I think they need to make it easier for those who dont want to use one to create a local account. I like the MS account only because it stores my Windows key which makes installations easier.

I hate that they try to push their browser on me. I have been using 3rd party browsers since Windows 98 SE. I currently use Firefox and Safari (iPhone) and they suit my needs. Im warry of any Chromium based browsers as Google is trying to take away my ability to prevent ads. Again I HATE Ads.

As far as home not being able to connect to AD, this is been the standard forever. Back in the Windows 9x days you used Windows NT for business needs. During the XP days they moved to the Home vs Pro. Personally I think this is fine. Because they made the average consumer version of Windows cheaper, any time a product is for a "business" its just more expensive, it is what it is. As far as needing the MS account for upgrades, I do agree that they should be provide an update key or something to that nature for those who dont want to use MS accounts.

This kinda pisses me off. My mom has a perfectly good PC, it works for her needs. But doesnt not have the right TPM module. So now she will have to upgrade come sometime next year. Sure I can hack Windows to make it work, but I dont want to have to troubleshoot it when Microsoft breaks it, or it has activation issues and what not.

Overall Ive been really impressed of how well the Steam Deck works for gaming. Because I have a Macbook Pro and kinda like MacOS, its likely sometime in the future I may not have a Windows device.

It’s cellular internet. So there are limitations and it’s much easier for the service to be congested. Speed will vary. Latency/Ping will be higher.

I suggest you take a step back and actually try to understand what the community is trying to explain to you in all of their posts.

I understand you are young and just trying to learn, that is a really good thing! But you need to take a step back and internalize what folks are telling you... since they are all correct.

Speedtest is not "lying", the numbers it is giving you are correct; speedtest.net is, without a doubt, able to give you 100mbps results. But the question is why, and that question has been answered by 3 or 4 people...

There are really only 2 possible explinations, neither of which you will easily be able to determine, with a potential but unnlikely 3rd option.

Option 1: your ISP is seeing you are trying to hit a speedtest.net server, and they are artificually lifting the 50mbps limit on your connection to that server, and that server only. This is not difficult for them to do... but they will almost certainly never admit to doing it. They do this to try and make people beleive they are getting more then they pay for, but in reality, they are only lifiting limits to certain speed testing sites.

Option 2: your ISP hosts a speedtest.net server on its own infrastrucutre. Your ISP may be able to route your traffic within its own network at 100 mbps even if you are paying for a slower speed, but once you exit the ISP's network that is where it puts the brakes on and slows things down.

Potential option 3, but not very likely - the burst idea. In certain bursts, if the network isn't overloaded, they may provide a little more than you are paying for. I pay for 500/25, and I almost always get 600/25. They don't guarantee 600, but I typically do get 600-625 ish. I am sure if I try and download something when everyone else is trying to download something (I have cable, so it is impacted by how everyone else in your local area is hitting the network) it will likley struggle to keep me at 500, but itll certainly try to (and usually does, I rarely see anything under 500).

These are really your only options. And if you are paying for 48... you have no leg to stand on, and have almost 0 chance of making any other connection exceed 50mbps, its being limited by your ISP... they own the pipes, and they get to put speed limits on them based on what tier of service you pay for.

Wouldn't been the first time an ISP gave priority to speed tests. OR the speed test server is on the ISP's network, I think my ISP hosts one near by in fact.

Also bear in mind where the server is located your trying to download from. Not every server on Earth is connected to your ISP. ANY time the packets have to leave the ISP's network its outside yours and their control. The servers themselves might have limits placed on them. Bandwidth is not free.

WiFi being WiFi. If you want a reliable and stable connection you need Ethernet PERIOD. WiFi is unpredictable as you have been experiencing.

I think a lot of people think 5G is just superior, but don't understand that as you go up in frequency the range and penetration power of the WIFi signal gets cut. Thats not taking in to account other devices using the same WiFi channels as you OR the fact that the WiFi spectrum is Unlicensed meaning anyone their mom and brother can use is as long as they follow the rules laid out by the government. For example Cordless phones have been known to use some of the 5Ghz band and the same could be said about Radar (which operates on the DFS channels). For 2.4 Ghz Microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices use the same band.
