Well, do this at your own discretion, but it shouldn't break anything. But if you have the game crysis 2 you just let it run the menu with the FPS limiter off and let the several thousand fps, and in theory, jiggles the winding back into place. This method is quite old and I don't know if it still works (but it did work with my R9 390). So I guess give it a shot if you don't want to exchange your card.

Are you sure it's stable? How long did you run the test for? 10mins? I only consider something to be stable if it doesn't bluescreen in a 24hr stresstest

Is it possible to post your full specs (including overclocks)? It'll make it easier to diagnose your problem.

I'm thinking that there could be a bottleneck or you didn't clean install your driver.

Consult your manual for where the ram goes, but usually it's every other slot, but look at your manual to make sure.

YubinTheBunny got a reaction from NinjaJc01 in what does a smaller cpu dye do?
A smaller manufacturing node, allows you to increase the amount of transistors set in a limited area and it also allows for better efficiency so it uses less power. eg. when Haswell's 22nm went to skylakes 14nm (poor broadwell, forever forgotten) the smaller node allowed a lower tdp. We didn't see much of an performance increase from Haswell to Skylake was because instead of putting more transistors down they decided to go for efficiency.

Both of my AIOs do that too, its just the air bubbles passing through the pump. Worry when the gurgling noise is constant and it also have grinding noises, then you might have a dead pump.

I'm assuming you have them plugged into the motherboard, would just control the fans using DC instead of a PWM signal. So try going into your bios or use speedfan and slow them or put them in a set RPM and see if that removes the noise.
(Side note: Personally I like using PWM fans because it allows you to spin them at a lower RPM.)

I asked a friend that actually did this to her 970 Strix and she told me that the VRMs are butt to keep cool. So what she did was stack copper heatsinks on top of the stock one on the VRMs and then zip tied a fan to side with the VRMs to keep them cool (if you have a place in your case to mount the fan that would be preferable). She also said to upgrade the stock fan to a Noctua NF-B9 as the stock one after running for a while would start buzzing.

I would still recommend using AF fans for the in take if you can.  But if you want to you can use SP fans so in case in the future if you need high pressure fans you can just use those instead. Of course, static pressure fans are also louder as they are forcing air through. If you think you'll never have to use SP fans then just go with AF, as they will move more air.  And in terms of fan controlling you can maybe try speed fan if your bios have no way of setting them up. Jay two cents made a nice tutorial on how to set it up.

SP Stands for static pressure and AF stands for Air flow. The differences between the fans are that SP fans are used when the airflow is obstructed eg. radiator and AF fans are used when it's an open-air enviroment. The setup in the picture you have is correct and because the fans are not being blocked by a radiator and a HDD cage. I suggest getting AF fans. Also, try to get 140mm fans for the intake if you can as you can run them at lower RPM and push just as much air as an 120mm and will be quieter. And if you can control the RPM of the fans I would run the Exhaust fans just a little slower then the intake to try to get neutral air pressure in the case.

I googled up some pictures of the Asus 970 Strix to see what the layout is like. Its seems to already have a black heatsink attached to the VRMs already and they don't have anything actively cooling the back as there is only a backplate there. So I think the fan its comes with should be enough to cool the VRMs. But personally I would lay a 120mm fan on the back of the GPU just to cool the back the of the VRMs to be on the safe side.

It wouldn't be the first time asus had problems with the vram cooling. I remember they had to revise the 7970 so it would have it because it kept overheating lol

Depends on what games you play. MicroShuttering for both parties are pretty much gone at this point, its more about the SLI and xFire profiles and who gets those out faster that may make or break the deal. G-sync is good if you can't hit the 60 or 120-144Hz refresh rate of the monitor.

If GTA V is as optimized as GTA IV, Your going to need a pretty beefy setup to run it 1080p@60fps.
