Magnetic top cover , need some help

Hi guys, when I put my magnetic top cover for my Mastercase Maker 5 the case makes a vortex sound and it sounds like the fans are speeding up and slowing down, its not that bad but when I listen for it I can hear it.

When I removed the top magnetic cover the noise vortex effect goes away.

 

Any suggestions?

I am using non pwm fans (Thermaltake riing 12)

i think it looks sexier without that top, so take it off?

It's probably just noise from the fans trying to draw air from the front and back instead of the top, because the magnetic cover is not mesh (I'm assuming).

It suffocates airflow, you're supposed to remove it if you're using the fans. :P

Based on the fan speed monitor it looks like the fan speed rpm fluctuates, could that be it?

Well, unless you have the fan speeds locked at a set RPM they should ramp up and down depending on your temps.

I'm assuming you have them plugged into the motherboard, would just control the fans using DC instead of a PWM signal. So try going into your bios or use speedfan and slow them or put them in a set RPM and see if that removes the noise.

(Side note: Personally I like using PWM fans because it allows you to spin them at a lower RPM.)
