TVwazhere got a reaction from DededeKirby in Data Breaches Arent a Joke - AT&T and the 73 million user data leak
Summary
-This is Not an April Fools Joke-
AT&T, one of the Big Three Cellular Network providers as well as internet to millions of Americans, announced that a dark web database was released containing 7.3M active AT&T users and 65M inactive users. Most concerning is the leak of Social Security numbers and dates of birth.
Quotes
My thoughts
First AT&T had the major service outage, and now a massive breach of personal data. While the data is speculated to be from 2021, it is unknown how far back the data extends, so customers who switched form AT&T back in 2018 (Hi, hello, its me) could still be affected. Admittedly I was part of a family plan so my SSN should be safe(r).
As a reminder, using both a 2FA app like Google Authenticator as well as a Password manager are some of the best ways you can protect yourself in the digital world we now live in, which feels almost inevitable that our data will be at some point compromised.

TVwazhere reacted to RollinLower in Folding Community Board
It took a while, but my F@H box is finally operational again!
Tally of stuff i had to replace:
- CPU (7742 died, currently back using the 7552)
- Motherboard (asrock ROMED8-2T to replace the Supermicro H11SSL-i)
- RAM (128GB DDR4 3200 to replace 256GB DDR4 3200 that died)
- Lots of new fittings
- Lots of new tube
- New 4070Ti waterblock (managed to save 1, the other is dead)
- New radiator since the old one was impossible to clean
Final cost, well over 1800 euros!
If anything, i think i learned my lesson using loop cleaning fluids. I'm still waiting on delivery of the second 4070Ti waterblock which is why only 2 GPUs are in the picture now.

TVwazhere got a reaction from SteveBinLaden in LTT Screwdriver Maintenance/Repairability
MegaPro is the OEM of the screw driver.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VJY1EC
However neither Megapro nor the LTT use any kind of fluid lubrication, as you can see in this torture test / destruction disassembly
So adding fluid to the screw driver is unnecessary for operation and probably not recommended

Yeah, I was away from home for a week so of course that's when a UPS died in my rack because hardware always knows when I'm gone.
Back up as of yesterday, almost all services restored.

... I'll confess, I didn't look that far ahead ^^'
If they're daisyable then yes it will save slots, don't put more than 3 on a single chain.

TVwazhere reacted to PDifolco in GPU at 100%?
GPU is supposed/designed to work at 100%;, unless it overheats it won't affect its lifespan

TVwazhere reacted to TatamiMatt in are all my parts compatible with each other? are there any known issues with these? any suggestions? (first-timer, kindly help).
As they arent the most commonly bought parts and so the "tax" they come with is based on consumer demand and cost to make the parts. Less bulk production means more money to make them and therefore more expensive to buy for end consumers

I am very happy, I have hit the top 10. I don't know as I will keep it for long or ever again, but I have made it at least once.

I thought the Aorus x570 Master had lost half of it's SATA Ports as the RAID 10 Array failed. Turns out that 2 drives in the RAID 10 had failed silently with Storage Spaces NOT throwing any Errors. Oh Joy. Thank Goodness for Backups!

TVwazhere reacted to Shimejii in Help me decide - 144Hz, 280Hz
Really depends on how good you are and if you are into competitive play. If you are just a casual, theres really not much of a point over spending.
Is there a big difference? Depends on your eyes and how you handle it. I see the uplift going from 144 to 240 to 360 hz, some people its not as noticeable. The response time is better so that will be an improvement, but unless you are able to actually utilize it, not by much.

TVwazhere reacted to Levent in Does this Titan X (Maxwell) Run Hot
Temps are high as expected BUT if you like the card, might want to replace pads and paste just to be safe (and maybe extract more performance). You can also BIOS mod Maxwell cards (and they overclock pretty damn good).

TVwazhere got a reaction from tkitch in HP Omen 45L Case for 130 USD
Imagine spending $350 for that garbage. $130 is still better, but the AIO being "separate" from the GPU heat doesn't matter much when you have a front panel that isn't competing performance wise with the rest of the market.

TVwazhere reacted to Senzelian in The US Department of Justice accuses Apple of having an illegal monopoly over smartphones
By definition, they don't have a monopoly, neither in hardware nor software. But can we just agree that they're assholes? There should be an anti-asshole law.

TVwazhere reacted to Hinjima in is the Lian Li LANCOOL 205 Mesh C good??
Yeah, its not a bad case! Its actually quite popular and comes up quite often in builds here on the Forum.
Comes with good dust filters and 3 fans already installed.
The Lian Li LANCOOL 216 comes up a lot as well.
If you like it, go for it 🙂

TVwazhere reacted to RageTester in Wooden case
It's been done, but final looks depend on your skill. Gluing it together might be easier, but it will probably look better when using more advanced technique.
Wood can crack and change shape as it dries, so make sure wood you use is completely dry already.
Other than that it's even safer than having metal case, because dry wood doesn't conduct electricity, even if some exposed parts touch the case it shouldn't short anything out...
Probably the one to look at:
Too advanced:
