Yeah, it's a race to the bottom with software these days. It'd be fine if the design paradigm was "people are dumb, make software that can do everything automatically", but it seems more like "people are dumb, make software that CAN'T be controlled manually"

You should be far more worried about your ISP and government tbh, they collect far more sensitive data (for all devices, unlike windows)
Stuff like your address, phone numbers, contacts, places you've been, credit card and bank account numbers, personal messages, emails, etc...

not sure if you have the ability to solder copper or not? but why not just create your own heat sinks out of sheets of copper and solder them directly to the metal plate  they would probably be more effective than sticking heat sinks on a plate of copper as there is one less thermal barrier.

Anyway, your best bet would be to plug the headset into the PC, and plug your xbox's analog audio out into your PC's Line in (the light blue one) and enable "Listen to this device" and it will relay anything played through that jack into the headset.
