After what I saw with the RX 480, I don't think it's worth the wait. Unless AMD doesn't do something, they will never beat nvidia.

Last I checked it wasn't even supposed to be a high-end card, but a card that offers performance for a low price. Which it does, so far.

I say wait for after market coolers and some better drivers. These are day one drivers on a new card. They are going to perform bad. But it is crazy to see how well it does at AMD optimized titles. We don't see those kinds of jumps with Nvidia cards

It's not going to be a massive upgrade, but a considerable one. If you sell your GTX 960 for a decent price and get one with an aftermarket cooler, it'll probably be a good option.

AMD uses crossfire, not SLI. And buy a single more powerful graphics card with your money. For the cost of two 8g 480s you can buy a 1070.

disable network awareness service and your windows won't know there's internet and will not try any updates unless you manually check for them

In the start menu, type Services and hit enter.
In the long list, search "Windows Update".
Right click and select "Disable".
