RX 480 SLI?

MYX

Hi all! I have a bit of money to spend and thought about upgrading my current build with an Athlon 880k, 16gb ram and gtx 950, to a new motherboard crossfire capable. since I cant buy another gtx 950, (because its NVidia and you cant put them in sli with AMD) I was thinking of buying two 480s and using sli

Think its a good idea? or would it be cheaper to get a new motherboard and cpu? and save up for another 950?

Thanks for your help!

What sort of gaming do you want to do where you need two RX 480's? What's your resolution, what games, and at what settings?

AMD's version of SLI is called Crossfire, by the way.

Hello, the gtx 950 doesn't support SLI :) sorry, but I'd reccommend getting a new mobo/cpu

My PC Specs: CPU: Core i5 4590 @ stock speeds, GPU: RX 480 8GB, RAM: 16GB DDR3 @1600mhz

Case: Zalman ZM-T4,Motherboard: GigaByte GA-H81M-S2H LGA 1150, HDD/SSD: 2TB Seagate Expansion drive, 1TB Samsung Portable HDD, 160gb Intel SSD, PSU: 550w corsair cxm

I would say get a new motherboard and CPU, and if possible, one RX 480. You can always add another later, and most decent midrange motherboards support Crossfire.
