Space Engineers is definitely well optimised.   This is how well the game runs on a GTX 650ti 2GB with the settings at medium (antistropic filtering manually set from off to x16) over PCIe 2.0 x4, and being displayed on my 1366x768 75Hz screen.   I'm very happy with the physics update they did a while ago as well-it went from single threaded to truly multithreaded.   Don't know how well the game scales past 8 threads though, but when you have a lot of objects interacting I am glad that I've got a 4790K-some creations end up that large that when they hit something at full speed (100m/s or 360KM/h due to the engine limits), my i5 4440 wouldn't have held up well.  Though that's when I'm also running a dedicated server for it.

The first thing that's wrong with this: "I lost my 10 year old son to Fortnite" Ahem, Fortnite's age rating is 12+, so if you think that the game is bad for him, you probably shouldn't have let him play it in the first place. And the only reason why this is a thing, is because it's a video game, if that kid spent the same amount of time playing sports/music or whatever, that would be considered a good thing.

Just realised that for at least the last 3 weeks my i7 4790K has been running at 4.6GHz, with the modified (2x bracket+2x through board removed, bracket askew) Coolermaster Eclipse running silent, and even at full sustained load running at only 1900RPM (which is just above its manual silent setting of 1800RPM).   Not bad considering the cooler only cost me $25, was first sold back in 2006 and is being used with cheap 6.8mK/W thermal compound.
Might bump it up to 4.7GHz, since 4.8GHz @ 1.35V is pushing its limits of stability.

My 80GB 7200RPM WD HDD benchmarks at very similar speeds to my Samsung HA250JC (250GB 5400RPM) drive, and yet when it comes to actually doing things under Windows 98SE (with or without the latest VIA drivers), it is a shitload faster. I should have been using it al along.

Installed Detonator 6.50 drivers (newer ones cause issues with Midtown Madness 2) for my TNT2 Series TNT2 Vanta 16MB and ViperV550, and the cards no longer overheat. 105MHz core and 115MHz memory on the Viper V550 running a batch 3DMark99 set from 640x480 to 1280x1024 16-32bit without overheating+locking up is a first.

This is what happens when a NIC relies solely on the CPU when transferring files. So glad I switched to the PIII 1000, though being a 98SE machine I couldn't do the transfer with the second CPU installed. I wonder how well my Intel Pro/100B and Pro/100S would have done.

I even managed to get the rigs 2 extra HDD+CD&DVD drives working perfectly along with the mouse.

Doing a full read through of my Intel SE440BX-2's manual (just finished setting it up as in my Windows 98SE rig-the 1998 Yamaha audio wrecks my 7th gen nano in uality and volume), and learned that as long as the RAM has SPD, I can recover the BIOS after a failed flash via a floppy disk. I also discovered that by having all sticks of RAM with their SPD functioning properly, it no longer has to count every MB of the 512MB installed, and that it posts a lot faster.
