The first build looked great honestly, the bends were so nice I thought it was soft tubing at first lol

Never won a giveaway before. Just got a drone from the IBM giveaway from like 3 and a half months ago lol. Finally came in today. Since my new house is pretty bare I'm going to have a good time flying it around.
Also just wanted to say thanks to Linus for showing me unraid. Currently got it running a living room VR windows VM and emby media server using a Linux docker.

I agree with them. 1080 and likely 1070ti is overkill for 1080p. 1070 is great for high fps 1080p gaming.

Fair enough, I get that. If I didn't have to deal with another SQL database in my life, I think I would be okay with that.

evilmatchbox got a reaction from Arcanekitten in lg g6 or p20 lite?
I have a g6. Solid battery life. The some of the early ones had really bad battery life, got a warranty claim on it. Been solid every sense. Granted I don't do much beside phone, text, email, stream music in my car and watch youtube videos on it occasionally. If you are going to get a new one should be great. But if its used, just be sure its not an early version (first month or two of launch).
Also, double tap screen to wake it up is amazing

evilmatchbox got a reaction from geo3 in Blue Switches
I recommend trying to re-solder different switches. With a cheap soldering iron, desolder pump, solder and switches you would be around the same price as a gaming keyboard and its a fun project. Soldering switches is one of the easiest soldering jobs, great intro into using one if you have never tried. Plus you end up with a keyboard with superior switches to most gaming keyboards.

Got the beautiful pump res combo in made by Radikult customs.
Finished up the runs late in the morning. The following day started leak testing. I noticed the pump/res was leaking. I emailed radikult customs who has been very accommodating through out the whole process. And it turned out late at night I put the gasket in the wrong spot. But now its working beautifully.

Most high end routers will have QoS features and depending on the network budget or size, look into managed switches aswell.

Took it to be stepdads workshop and beat the crap out of it until It was nice and flat.
Trying to figure out if there is enough room on the bottom for a RaD fans and still fit a vert GPU
Its going to be super tight. Looks like I might have to use the dremel to make it work.

Specs:
X370 MSi Gaming pro Carbon
AMD r7 1700 @ 4025mhz
EVGA GTX 1080 @ 2120mhz
Corsair LPX 3600 @ 3444 mhz stablish (stable at 3200)
240GB Samsung SSD
3 Tb Seagate Constellation
EVGA 650 Watt G3 power supply
Alphacool VPP655
EKWB GTX1080 WB
watercool heatkiller IV CPU block
Radikult Customs - Custom made Res/pump combo
Corsair RGB strips, LL fans and SP fans
Lots of random Alphacool, Bitspower, xspc fittings
I originally built my first hard-line water cooled build about a year ago in a corsair 460x. I dont know If you guys have ever seen one in person, but it is quite compact for a Mid ATX. It turned out okay.

But due to inexperience and the compact nature, I wasn't able to get those nice right angles and straight lines, I usually see on the interwebs.
So I decided to take my rig and move it into the Lian li 011 dynamic with a few improvments
It unfortunately arrived rather bent

evilmatchbox got a reaction from MrShinny in Quick question about drain port
I haven't seen this case do you have a picture? But you could eliminate that headache by using the T fitting, then using a double G 1/4 fitting then a ball valve then to that section where it drains. This way that area wont have stagnant liquid. No one wants to uncap a plug fitting that has liquid behind it. Huge mess.

evilmatchbox got a reaction from Damascus in [Build Log] Lian Li O11 Dynamic build So Far
I have a watercool AM4 cpu block. I can vouch it does indeed feel very substantial.
I have a EKWB gpu block. I personally don't have any problems with it. But my buddy bought EK Vardar fans, And has RMA 3 of the 6. He eventual sold them all. They were having alot of bearing issues.
Big fan of hardware labs and alpha cool radiators. From my experience all d5 pumps are about the same these days. Price, looks, and # of port and how they are facing for your build is most important when buying a combo/or with a pumptop. Never used DDC's
Perhaps I will give barrow fittings next time. I have alot of monsoon soft and hard fittings as well as bits power laying around.

You're welcome, glad I could help These cards are still relevant these days for a budget build, and the 3Gb of VRAM at that price is pretty sweet !

I had a 4870 with a gb of ram and it ran most games at 1080 4 or so years ago no problem.

evilmatchbox reacted to Briggsy in 980 vs 290x
you can add a 780/780Ti that that list. the full size Kepler chips produce about the same heat as 290/290x (heat output, not core temperatures), because they are from the same time period. I know, big surprise.
