For the Moto x Force "Force will launch in mid-November for £499 for the 32GB model and £534 for the 64GB configuration, though various carrier deals will also be available."

boboman342 reacted to RedSphyxis in 1080p surround
IMO surround gaming is really just for bragging off. It's better to have a 1440p or 4k monitor than doing 1080p surround.
I have a benq surround setup(144hz and all that, what you're planning to go for except the thin bezels part) and I don't really play surround with it. I tried hooking up my swift for the first time to test it and it was just balls to the walls better than playing surround.
that's just my gods honest opinion though so take it with a grain of salt

This.
Freesync monitors generally are cheaper than G-Sync monitors, that and Asus Strix cards are just awful.

Well 21.5in 1080p monitors are slightly, but noticeably sharper than 23.6in 1080p monitors. I like the slightly bigger screen though. If you want a 27in screen, I defiantly recommend a 1440p one, although to get an ips one with gsync would probably cost about the same as your whole computer.
Like what I did, I would sell your gtx 970 and buy an r9 290x or r9 390 and a compatible freesync display, like the Samsung S24E370DL (23.6in 1080p 60/75hz ips) or the more expensive Asus MG279Q (27in 1440p 144hz ips)
You can get cheaper ips/pls 27in 1440p displays without variable refresh, so unless you are used to stutter and screen tearing, don't get a monitor without variable refresh!

Check on the card - if temps aren't conclusive there should be a label/sticker on the card and box

The VRM, not VRAM, temps - if they're above 90*C while gaming you might have a older revision - you can replace revision 0,1 and 2 for free via XFX

Oh shit dawg, I might do that even if I have to pay to ship it to xfx!

I can tell you it's an improvement. The 290X is a beast and mine is overclocked to 1150mhz core / 1450mhz memory with only slight voltage increase. I can highly recommend this upgrade to anybody right now, the 290X's can be found for ridiculously low prices right now and they're more powerful than the 390's, which beat the 970's.

Depends on the part. Used CPU's, mobo's, RAM, coolers, GPU's are fine imo. Hard drives, ssd's, psu's not fine.

boboman342 reacted to Morgan MLGman in MSI R9 280 or EVGA GTX 950?
R9 290/290X are the best cards for the money right now if you're looking to upgrade since there are some pretty damn good deals for those.

boboman342 reacted to SteveGrabowski0 in HAF X still viable?
The HAF X is probably the best case for air cooling your GPU thanks to that 200mm side fan, but I couldn't deal with the dust that case would get. You can probably get newegg to credit you the difference in price between what you paid and the sale price if you bought it within the last 14 days. @boboman342 just got a $20 newegg credit when he bought an Enthoo Pro at $100 and it went on sale at newegg for $80 a couple of days later.

boboman342 got a reaction from don_svetlio in R9 290X vs GTX 970
I changed from a 970 to an r9 290x, and possibly crossfire. Sure the 970 is faster in select games, but weather it be 5fps or 20+fps faster, the average fps being well over 60, does it really matter? Plus 4GB vram vs 3.5GB.
I also sold my 970 for $50 more than my aftermarket r9 290x cost.
And yea, the 390x is slightly slower than the 980 for waaaaay less money.

boboman342 reacted to KemoKa in Should I pull the trigger on a triple monitor setup?
Honestly, what my plan is, is to get a 1440p monitor and use my two Dell 1050p monitors on the side. I want a setup like Wendell.
