Battlefield 4 is now officially banned in China

The Chinese government has officially banned first-person shooter game, Battlefield 4, calling out Electronic Arts (EA) for developing content that threatens the country's national security.
 
It also accused the U.S. game developer for depicting a form of cultural invasion, according to a PCgames.com.cn report Friday. China's Ministry of Culture issued a notice prohibiting all materials related to the game in any form, including game downloads, demos, patch downloads, and news reports.

 

calling it a "threat to national security" and a form of "cultural aggression".

Opinions on this? I think its just China being fools and jumping in, they don't realize it shows China in a good(ish) light.

Oh yeah , i forgot the number 4 in chinese is almost the same as the word ''death'' so maybe it's really violent or something? I don't know sometimes china is strange.

I think blizzard had to hide all bones and skeletons and probably some other stuff too.

I think blizzard had to hide all bones and skeletons and probably some other stuff too.

Similar to Starcraft 2 with South Korea, they had to get rid of smoking and blood so it wasn't a rating that made it almost impossible for regular people to buy. This isn't really new but it is funny.

it's closer in japanese. "shi" (4) vs "shi" (death) rather than chinese "su" (4) vs "suwang" (death)

Not really surprised as there is content related to China. But if people really wanted to get it they could just buy it off from a key service online.

The Chinese government is made of a bunch of retards that don't give a good image of their country. They do not even represent their citizens, as Chinese are eager to benefit from more democracy.
