Dell UP2414Q 24inch 4K display - Priced (affordable!) - And 28inch cheaper varient

GoodBytes

A few days ago, Dell teased a gorgious, chaw dropping spec'ed monitor, with a 4K resolution.

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/81640-dell-24inch-4k-display

The very exiting, Dell UP2414Q, 24inch IPS monitor with a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), with 99% AdobeRGB and 100% sRGB coverage with a DeltaE<2, 8ms response time, 178 degree view angle in all direction, fully adjustable stand, price has been revealed.

The monitor will cost $1,399.

While it sounds pricey, a 1920x1200 monitor cost around 700$ with similar (not as good) specs. And considering the price of other 4K displays, this one is much cheaper.

Still too much?

A 28inch version of the same monitor will be released, early next year with a price of under 1000$!

So, how many will you get now that you know the price?

Nice price for this monitor, but hope $200-$400 4k monitors are available soon since this is more of a enterprise grade monitor.

I have yet to see a 24" monitor with 2560x1440, or even better with 2560x1600

Neither, I'm waiting for W-LED to go away.

White LEDs can't emit wide gamut colors. It must be using GB-LED, or RGB-LED (cost a fortune), or high grade CFL (this monitor is too thin for it). So, GB-LED it is.

It gives you a massive amount of desktop space and very high pixel density in a 24" panel, and can also do 1920x1080 natively whenever you need to if you don't have $1500 worth of graphics cards.

Since the u3014 (1600p) is priced similar with this 24" 4k mon up2414q, which one will u choose? the u3014, or up2414q?

and I must say, I'm surprised, and impressed by how hard Dell is pushing 4k into their monitor lineup. It would definitely push the price of 4k monitor down.

I won't be getting one now that I know the price, but it's a lot lower than I thought it would be :P

btw, i think the 28" 4k mon may be using a 27.8" panel from Chiemi Innolux, since this is the only panel with this size (28") (that i can think of). What's interesting about this panel is that it is a 10-bit panel. If it is true, Linus will love this.

You can barely find greater than 1080p really at that price, how soon do you expect 4K at that price?

That's it, I'm staying a customer, Dell!

I'm buying 6 of these 28" panels if the reviews look as stellar as I hope.

Edit:

It appears as though the 28" model isn't of the same quality series, hence the lower price. Guess I'll have to wait until they release the higher end version of the 28" model.

Cheers,

Linus
