lol nah its TDP more then anything. I need to get the cards before I do anything for the voltage cause I want to do 1.3V and then see how they do with 1.35V but apparently the voltage going through the cards is more then what GPU-Z or GPU OC Softwear will tell you correctly

Oh BTW @Jumper118 My friend my let me take his 970 G1 card for a run in my system soon. This same card wouldn't overclock at all on his FX 8350.

Drop the memory back about 10MHz and that might help.

Doubt it, the core clock is more an issue, it gets gets iffy above 1205

 

I am currently in doubt though if I should pick up an 295x2, shop is selling one at 601 euros, but only 11 months warranty as it is an open box return

11 months is plenty for warranty isn't it? And generally overclocking automatically voids the warranty, unless there is a company out there on the amd side that offers a warranty even if you overclock that I am not aware of.

that is a beast score for a 280 with no extra voltage. my 7970 needed all the voltage sliders to the end to get the clocks it did. you should get a much higher score on your rig than his with the g1, just because you have an intel cpu.

This 280 wouldn't go above 1000MHz core and 1300MHz memory with my friends system and the Asic is 61.1% on this card Trust me I will have my ways to take the top spot in a GPU category if I try.

i've been telling people that my 7970 wasn't that fast and that 7950 could beat it if they got a good one. on ocuk there is a 7970 with a score of 2477 and the fastest 7950 got 2266

I did everything I could just shy of water cooling or creating a custom bios, two thing I won't be doing until I get my second card in a few months. If you would like I will repost my screenshots of msi so that you have a reference to beat.
