I am still a bit stunned by that score though.

seems fairly normal. i've seen 7950 CF get higher.

Don't tempt me top buy that 3 way cf set of these cards with waterblocks though that third card is wasted running pcie 2.0 at 4x (Z77 sabertooth MB)

Note: GPU-Z shows 1250 core, but that was my start and I forgot to refresh run this one at 1205, max core I get without artifacts)

 

 

 

This was done according to the AMD optimization in the OP and 1x1 optimization for CF. Going bone stock I get 89-90FPS.

 

Going to tweak some more tomorrow need to find the exact limits, but for that I need to open up the windows and deploy the fans.

 

Still safe to say this blows my single R9 290x lightning out of the water and I only paid 260 euros for the set which I have to say was a bargain, but hey the guy accepted the offer.

 

That is a crazy score. before I fried my 7950, I could maybe muster 2100-2200 score out of it in valley. the scaling of 2 7970's is remarkable.

ha nice video, and to be honest i think i could actually squeeze out 6000 if i found my cards true oc. this is just a simple quick oc to +175/+500

 

closest i could get was 5992

yep, but found out it wasnt entirely stable so i backed off to 4.9. but it may have just been that i was starting to hit the ceiling of my psu so i may try again later tonight. and disregard that benchmark too, hoped up dual psu's and got a higher score

the R9 280 is a generation newer than the rest of your system (pci-e 1.0, DDR2, first gen quad core), so the score is a little on the low side if the GPU is running at or near stock. if you have the GPU overclocked, than it's really being held back.

not that valley cares much but that CPU is terrible... It will be hurting your in game performance HEAPS.

Even my gtx770 was severely bottlenecked by my q8400 @3.2ghz. I got almost +50% fps going to an i5-750 and some more going to an i5-4690.

Yeah, and if you haven't already I suggest unlocking the card to the HD 6970.
