So what's the general consensus on power supplies

Haven't really been keeping up with PC components lately and i'm in need of a new PSU. Looking for 80+ gold, ideally 600w+ and at least semi modular. Budget is quite flexible just needs to be something that i can throw in and not worry about. Components are in sig and i'm buying from the UK.

i have a corsair ax 860 and no beef with it

Efficiency matters a lot less than people think. Semi-modular > modular unless you're getting custom cables. You do not need 600W on a single GPU system

 

With that out of the way I can see your build and would recommend the Antec HCG 520W/620W (whichever is cheaper) or the EVGA 550W/650W GS. Also check out the link in my sig for a list of solid PSUs. Note that I make no mention of value in that list.

Well the 650w G2 is £15 more than the 620w High current gamer which isn't that much considering that its fully modular, nice all black cables, 80+ gold and pushes 54a on the 12v rail which for some odd reason my 770 "needs" at least 42a. So thanks for the help.
