Which Halo was your favorite?

lilwic

I would like to know which halo in the series was your favorite and why. I would like to see your responses and one or a couple good reasons why it is your favorite over the others. Personally Reach is my favorite because it had the best forging mode and character customization.

Halo 1 campaign, hands down. It was the best. I played a lot of halo 1 on PC and it was stupid fun, but I wont count that for multiplayer since it wasn't on xbox. I will say H2 was a better multiplayer experience, but I didn't play much of it, so I have to say halo 3 for multiplayer. Reach was also great, but I didn't play it as much as 3... And 4 is fun, ish. Its getting pretty old, and MCC is still broken. Lag + bad game loading + just issues. Really too bad, halo 4 was fun, but the issues make it get old pretty quick.

My favourite is H3, hands down. I've spent so many hours in the multiplayer, ranking up, talking shit... a lot of defining memories. I'd consider myself a Halo 3 kid despite enjoying Halo Combat Evolved back in 2002, Xbox Live added so much to the game (H2 was crazy good aswell although I didn't play that one as much).

MCC is still shit though and never captured the epicness of the originals.

ODST.

Although halo 2 will always have a spot in my heart. So many hours of multiplayer.. So much hearing damage from xbox live players..

Halo 1 was my favorite all around but I did really enjoy Halo 4 alot and enjoyed its multiplayer the most.

I've always preferred ODST because of how much more difficult it was and how you really had to worry about how much ammo you had and what gun you were using. That game made me a much better player for the rest of the series and I am able to dominate in SWAT, which I rarely choose to play myself. I'd give second place to Halo 1 for the campaign and the OG assualt rifle, but 2, 3, and Reach were also great (meh on 4).

Halo: Reach, mainly due to what I thought was a really great campaign with improved forge and firefight.... with H3 a close second due to it's always fun/balanced MP.

I don't care about the multiplayer in Halo. It's boring and just a slowed paced arena shooter for gamepads. But the story was the best and Combat Evolved in my opinion was the best at the story line. Halo 3 was utter crap and Halo 2 was just good. Then again, it maybe because I had Halo Combat Evolved from day one and I have played it for so many hours.

I loved ODST. Why they got rid of Firefight... Loved playing it for hours and hours, getting massive scores. Was so fun.

Reach Multiplayer was awesome as well.

They all had issues. Halo1 had the majority of it's issues fixed with Halo2 but Halo2 introduced new worse issues.  Halo3 had fewer issues, and with Halo Reach and Halo 4 it barely feels like a different game. Removing the halo1 pistol was a bad idea...

They all had their own good things about them at least the ones I played. Halo 1 will always be amazing for 1 thing. Playing on PC. Halo 2 was on PC as well but the problem with it was availability only for windows Vista at the time. Blame Vista for taking away our Halo on PC. Eveyone still had XP yet on the box it said it required Vista.

LOL about the halo pistol. It was great in halo 1 because there wasn't any other gun that was medium range and had that kind of fire power. Halo 2 fixed the issue of a pistol being so OP by adding other weapons. I personally like that they changed the power of the pistol and added more guns. Zoom with a pistol? Come on.

That's the thing that made Halo CE so competitive though, the pistol was the only utility gun in the game, it was deadly both at distance and in CQC.

Correct. But it was replaced by the battle rifle. It made a lot more sense then a pistol that was so OP and had zoom.

In the other games, especially in Halo2, you spawn with a useless weapon.  You then are not able to begin fighting after you spawn, you're instead supposed to go and find a weapon that isn't useless and hope that you don't die on the way to doing so.  You find a weapon that's meh, but then you run into someone who has a noob combo or some other sort of bs combo, and you die.  In Halo1, there are other issues, but at least you start with a weapon that's perfectly fine as is.

The battle rifle is ok, but because it takes so long to kill someone with a battle rifle you run into 2 different issues.  You get your kills stolen by someone else more often, and you get people running away from you before you can finish them off more often.

That depends on the mode you play. You don't have to start with a weaker pistol. Also, that's often what an arena fps game is like.

Also with the battle rifle, one shot to the head and they are dead. Maybe you should aim more at the head. Same thing with the pistol. It took a few shots on the body but the head is a differs story.

Are we even talking about the same game?  The BR takes at least 4 shots to the head, each shot containing a 3 shot burst, and the entire burst needs to hit in the head to deal the right amount of damage.  Haven't played in a while so can't remember right now for sure if the minimum is 4 bursts or 5, but it certainly isn't 1.  The Halo1 pistol can kill in 3 headshots, each shot interval firing faster than a BR burst.

Halo 3 multiplayer was where I really put a lot of time in the halo series with all the custom maps and game modes, etc.

Good times.
