Sony 55Kg, $50,000 4k LASER projector

ahhming

Measuring some 125 x 26.5 x 53.5 cm and weighing some 55kg, yet it can be mounted from your ceiling or placed on the floor to suit your needs, and as you may have noticed from our summary, can be placed almost right up to the wall you intend to project your images on.

Each 4k projector is handmade.

vplgtz1.jpg

The VPL-GTZ1 needs only seven inches from the wall to project a 17:9 image that's 147" tall, 80% less than what a regular projector would need. This offers for a wide range of uses - from home entertainment to commercial applications like visual arts displays in museums or digital signage. For larger screen sizes multiple units can be blended together via additional third party software or hardware, so that you can have a 34:9 image or larger!

sitex-27.jpg

Because the VPL-GTZ1 is powered by Sony's 4K SXRD through a laser phosphor light source, it's able to project a true 4K image with superb picture quality and color brightness of 2,000 lumens. Sony's Triluminos technology is supported, and the lamp is rated for 20,000 hours without the need for lamp exchange which means it should take about 1/10 the number of lamp exchanges compared to a regular projector using conventional ultra high pressure mercury lamps.

HDMI 2.0 is supported for a full 4K/ 60p experience, and HDCP 2.2 is supported so you can get protected content from future 4K content streaming services. On the box are 4 HDMI inputs, a USB port, and a 10Base-T/100Base-T ethernet jack for streaming services.

The VPL-GTZ1 is available now at all authorized dealers for S$63,000 = 50k USD

The panasonic ones have it. And this one costs like insane amount of money to not have features in it.

yeah okay, it has everything you need and it's 4k and it doesn't have a port that allows it to display 4k at full colours, legit?

Why does it need one?

What gamer has 50k to blow on a short throw, 4K laser projector? Remind me again, when the most this will be used for is 4K broadcasts, Netflix, local streaming and even console gaming; does the need for DP even exist? Can you name any high end HT equipment that uses DP? Does it make any sense?

Your comment is retarded. As if you were buying this anyways much less having any reasonable argument for why it needs a DP port.

Oh, and to your "not showing all colours at 4K" comment, take a look at what HDMI 2.0 supports, which is relevant since this has 4 HDMI 2.0 inputs. Please, research up a little on the products you're trying to shit talk so you don't look like a moron next time.

Yeah sure hdmi 2.0 supports it now, but dp has supported it for years, how hard is it to put it in when the thing costs 50K.

Which input/output is the accepted standard for HT products? Hint: it isn't DisplayPort. Not by a long shot.

HDMI from source to HDMI in your receiver out by HDMI to your TV/Projector. Thats how its done. They could include DP, but for what? Not having doesn't hinder anyones experience except the clowns who talk about it as if they were actually buying one in the first place.

I would already have one of those cheaper 4k tv's if they had dp, but they don't and my gtx 760 does not have the magic hdmi.
