Stuck on which case to buy

bradwiggo

I am building a high end build (i5-8600K and 2080 Ti), so i need a good case for my build. I would prefer to stay under £100 for the case. I would like a tempered glass side panel that is not tinted (I can deal with a very light tint).

So far this has been my path:

I looked at the Meshify C but didn't like the front

I like the Be quiet pure base 600, but the cooling sin't great

I like the design of the define c but apparently cooling still isn't great.

And now I am a bit stuck, there are loads of other options but I don't know which ones have decent cooling.

Specs:

  • i5-8600K
  • Evga Black RTX 2070
  • 16GB DDR4 2400MHz
  • ASRock Extreme 4 Z370
  • Fractal Design Meshify C Light TG

Location: UK

Plays: Minesweeper at 1000 fps.

Take a look at the NZXT H500. It's the successor to the S340 Elite, with better airflow and such. I can keep a 5GHz 8600K (on a Noctua NH-D15S with dual fans) and a 980 Ti cool (as cool as you can get a hot GPU and toasty CPU in a small case) in there, so the H500 should do even better.

Yeah I had seen that one, although I wasn't a huge fan of the side panel design, I prefer the full side panels.

Does that have as good cooling as the Meshify? Is the side panel quite tinted, as it looks a bit tinted. Is it more tinted than the Meshify C? (By which I mean the version of the meshify C with not much tint, it will definitely be less tinted than the version with the dark tint.)

I own the Meshify C TG and Enthoo Pro M TG, the 'tint' on both is pretty much identical, so meaning no tint at all.

How much does a Corsair 750d go for where you live bradwiggo? I'll say save up for that and you'll never have to buy a case ever again. Very good cooling and can almost fit anything into it.

Yes the cooling should be very similar since they both have mesh front panels. (I dont have either sadly)

What's the cooling like on that, is it as good as the meshify c? I read it wasn't as god due to the lack of a mesh front panel?

Yes it isn't but it has full cover dust filers at the front and then perferated sides, so quality fans can easily over come the slight problem of the dense dust filter.

Yeah, it's about the same, I have a bunch of hard drives in the front of the Enthoo Pro M so that blocks airflow a bit but it has a vented front panel so it allows for good airflow, the dust filter isn't as good as in the Meshify C but it's okay. Temps in my Meshify C are better with 2x 140mm fans at the front versus the 3x 120mm fans at the front of my Enthoo Pro M build. But the Pro M also has a hotter running i7-8700k and a smaller air cooler than I have in the Meshify C build, so it's not exactly a direct comparison.

If you don't need the extra 3.5" hard drive space (in order to get extra hard drive sleds like I have you have to buy them separately) the Meshify C is quite a bit more compact and feels more practical. It's also easier to build in and has better cable management. It is my favorite case. If you want me to go on about my minor complaints about why the Enthoo Pro M it isn't a perfect case just let me know ahaha.

Here is a post on my Meshify C TG System.

So the Define C has just as good cooling as the Meshify C? Is the side panel as tinted, or is it less tinted?

So the Define C has just as good cooling as the Meshify C? Is the side panel as tinted, or is it less tinted?

not tinted at all, worse cooling but easily fix able :D

I may be wrong.

I was also looking at the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M, but it has a tinted side panel. Do tinted ones look better, as they seem to be everywhere now. I assume the Meshify C would still have better cooling if you added the same amount of fans as the Define C? What is the difference in cooling, is it just a few degrees?

I was meaning that I assume most people must prefer tinted, as it seems to be everywhere. Are there any cases better than the define C that has a non-tinted side panel?

Thank so for ehe pictures. Does the last time picture of the ethoo pro my have the side panel on?

Yes, the second picture is with the side panel on, flash on as well to make it so the glare is not visible. As far as clarity neither case has tinted glass.
