Finally buying a new Graphics Card!

Kn3xis

So the time is upon me, I have saved up all the monies I can, and am finally able to purchase a new graphics card. I have my eyes set on the new RTX 2080, but am unsure which model to get, since I cannot find benchmarks for some of the models. Currently my local computer store has the following in stock.

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2080 WINDFORCE OC
ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 O8G Dual-fan OC Edition
MSI GeForce RTX 2080 GAMING X TRIO
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2080 GAMING OC

Any other brand or model is currently on back order, and not really keen on the idea of waiting.
My current graphics card:
R9 390 Nitro

tbh, I'd rather get a 1080Ti.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

Where I am, the 1080Ti is like 10$ cheaper. Personally I am not gonna buy previous gen, if the price difference is so minimal.

*edit* also pretty much sold out

Wow. sucks living in a place where there's a $400 price gap.

Really anything except the dual fan ASUS one.

I have a personal bias towards MSi. I think their Gaming X line looks pretty sexy.

There's not a lot of reviews yet of the different cards because the reviewers can't get their hands on all the different ones yet. Also, you won't find much a difference between most of those cards. If you want to OC get one of the cards with 3 fans, I've heard good stuff about the MSI cards so that would be a good buy.

I was leaning towards a 3 fan model, so good to know. My R9 390 is a 3 fan and I have never had an issue with cooling. Thanks for your suggestions!

Personally I prefer EVGA but those must be sold out. If anything I vote for the Windforce Gigabyte one. Those cards have a pretty good track record.

Ya, there are no EVGA in stock anywhere within driving range. I was looking at the gigabyte windforce first and foremost, its about 60$ cheaper than some of the others, so that is a huge draw.

Correction, there is this EVGA one not too far from me.
EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 XC ULTRA GAMING 8G Dual-fan
But its a dual fan model

Performance-wise, there should be little difference among the various brands, as such, I think the one with the best or longest warranty wins. In my neck of the woods, I'd gotten a Palit RTX 2080 Ti because it was one of the lowest priced Ti models, plus it has a sweet 3 year warranty.

I've been asking for some advice on my new build. I do however feel pretty content about the GPU I am about to buy (also a 2080)

From the research I have done it seems like the Asus rog strix RTX 2080 or MSI GeForce RTX 2080 GAMING X TRIO <- Do best both in performance, temp and noise benchmarks. Personally I want the Asus the most but its alot more expenssive than the MSI.

So if those are your only options I would pick the MSI if you want the best performance (1-3% in max difference) and want something silent. I have a 770 windforce and I have been pretty happy with that as well, so that could be a good option as well.

That is my advice from the limited knowledge I have scrapped together.

LTT being an internatiolan forum, we'd like to ask you where you are from due to the prices are different from country to country.

And what is your maximum budget? Previous generation are good enough like the 1080Ti but if it's really 10$ cheaper, then why not.
