4 threads. Can I watch youtube & surf the web while I wait for my android project to compile?

Previous budget CPUs could not do this.

oh i3's were not very good for multi tasking while compiling. I think I need 4 proper cores.

well then a 1300 or 2200G would be the minimum with 4 true cores, if you want 4 cores 8 threads the 1400 or 1500X are about 40-50$ more than the 2200G

just overall. I know where to get full i5 systems from 2nd and 3rd gen maybe as new as 4th gen for about 100$ but most people can't.
almost everywhere used your looking at 50-60 for board that supports 2nd or 3rd that isn't a Dell OEM board that only fits 1 model.

It's easy to get one for $50 that isn't OEM even on eBay.

I have been looking at the 2400G. It is a massive upgrade from my q8400. Looks like it plays rocket league without needing a dGPU.

I have a i3-4160 which is very similar to the performance of this and I have to say, paired with a GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti this is a seriously good value CPU that would fit in a cheap/budget gaming machine. It probably can't run high-end games, but it can probably run everything else better than most people would expect as long as you have the right settings.

This would smash if unlocked, it's very disappointing it's not.

If this were unlocked this would be THE budget choice.

Way to drop the ball AMD

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Yes; all Vega based GPUs can output at 2160p at 60Hz, and I believe with HDR too.

:D Nice thanks.

Is this even available anywhere right now? Checked Newegg and it's out of stock and it's not even listed on Amazon from what I could find...

Seems like it's available in the UK if RGinHD's review is of any indication.

I think this will probably be good in pre-built systems that are sold fairly cheaply, but this might be one of those cases where building your own system won't be a better value.

This is a very niche product. IMO, if you have the disposable income to build a PC, you also have the opportunity to wait for another week or two of paychecks to get a Ryzen 3 2200G and a B350 motherboard. Then, you'll have a system that slaughters what the Athlon 200GE can give you.

Current Build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

GPU: RTX 3080 Ti FE

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Tuf X570 Plus Wifi

CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X53

PSU: EVGA G6 Supernova 850

Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Current Laptop:

Model: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HS

GPU: RTX 3060

RAM: 16GB @3200 MHz

Old PC:

CPU: Intel i7 8700K @4.9 GHz/1.315v

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3200 MHz

Mobo: Asus Prime Z370-A
