When's a Good Time to Buy RAM?

Hi, so I'm currently after getting another 2x4GB kit of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 at 2400MHz speed since that's the original speed I bought when I first got my PC. I was browsing Amazon as normal and in my wishlist, I saw the price of Corsair Vengeance LPX dropped to just under £80.

 

 

I bought this kit at £77.99 back when I was choosing PC parts, so it seems to have gotten back down to a good price, because last week it was £90. It's now just under £80 so I was wondering, is now a good time to buy more memory or is it a good idea to wait a few weeks or even months more to buy another kit? I'm in no hurry since I can do with 8GB for now and nothing I do is limited by it, so I can afford to wait it out.

Well, ram prices have continued to drop recently, plus with holiday sales around the corner, I feel like waiting would be a good option.

Yeah, we have Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas, New Year's Day, but by how much will they drop is unknown, could be £3 savings for all we know.

well and a tsunami hits and what to say, the prices skyrocket again... 

 

So with this argument it's never the right time.. 

 

so again... I stay with, you need it? you got the money, then now it is the right time... if you don't need it and have the money, put it aside for a rainy day, then it is not the right time...

that's true, its all a gamble honestly, if the chance of extra savings is important to you, like it is to me lmao, then the wait is worth it. I dread it when I buy something, but then find it shortly after for a much cheaper price

I find sometimes the random sales are the best. I picked up my i7 8700k cpu on a random 1 days sale from Wal-Mart for $318 bucks. Got $25 off my ram from a random 1 day sale from Newegg. I just keep looking until I find a price I am comfortable with and if it drops then it just leaves me saying, oh well

Or 2 years ago. The prices were low back then. Buying things in the past is always an option. For everyone with a Police Public Call Box or a DeLorean.

With this argument alone, upgrade your ddr 3 when DDR6 drops in price... ddr3 must be really cheap then =P

2400mhz. But still, August-September 2016 were all time lows for DDR4 RAM prices

RAM for sure, no not a 980 Ti, my brand loyalty lies with Corsair, and hell yeah the Lian Li Lancool One.
