99.99% of people don't delid and are perfectly fine.

The stock thermal paste works fine for all except the highest end CPUs.

You don't really have to delid. The off-chance that you have to probably means that you're trying to take something far beyond what it was meant to do. Most builders aren't going to overclock their 8700K to 5.5GHz or try pumping 20v into a single socket.

because the price you paid comes with warranty, and delidding voids it immediately, they dont have to fix it anyway

cut cost was never an excuse If you think of the market share, the all those technology and machines used to produce the soldered sandy bridges and the missing and cheaper stock cooler with new cpus

 

I think Intel has some deals and did this on purpose so people will have to buy high end water coolers

Intel make those CPU's they can run at 90 to 95c without any issues what so ever for years on end...people simply worry way too much about CPU temps...that's why...you don't have to delid, just stop looking about that stupid CPU temp and you'll be all good.

They actually want the thermals to be bad so performance is bad until AMD puts up some competition, as soon as they got close, oop, time to solder, milk an extra gen.

 

The toothpaste was perfect if they wanted bad thermals to discourage overclocking while cutting cost (still faster single threaded), it's a calculated business decision.
