Posted September 7, 2018 I'm planning on building a new PC and the parts I have left to buy are a Ryzen 5 2600, ASRock - B450M PRO4, SSD, RX580, and a PSU. Posted September 7, 2018 There definitely are deals and sales that happen. I don't think there's usually anything super extreme but you could totally save $50-$100 if the deals favor your parts choices. EDIT: Just as an example, last year I recall things like 580s being overpriced leading up to Black Friday, with them being consistently at least around $50 higher than MSRP. Around Black Friday though you could find some rx 580 8gbs going for $250 ish. That just gives you an idea of the kinds of savings you might expect. Posted September 7, 2018 Depends on what you want or need and what the sales are. What goes on sale varies from year to year. Two years ago, I made a killing on 4TB SSDs I wanted (and, to a lesser degree, needed). Last year, nothing I wanted or needed went on sale. Same for many other years. I'm hoping the new Samsung 4TB 860 Pros get a significant price reduction (they already have dropped quite a bit since they came out shortly after the first of this year). I would love to get my meathooks into five or six of them if the price is right (then eat Ramen and mustard sandwiches--without the bread--for the next two or three years). Posted September 7, 2018 I've found Black Friday deals are a gamble, and they usually won't have what you're looking for. Or if they do, it's probably not going to be on sale for any lower than what it'd normally go on sale for. If you're trying to build a budget though, don't build one around sales.
