Another Pixel 3 XL was found, now in a back of a Lyft

Here we go again, 8 years after the iPhone 4 prototype was lost in a bar, we see a Pixel 3 XL prototype lost in a back of a Lyft.

So, an anonymous Lyft driver found a Pixel phone in the back of his car, thinking it was his own 2 XL. However, he saw the notch and the plethora of stickers and barcodes on the back, so he decided to take some photos before returning it to the owner.

 

Now, this would have been a breaking story if the Pixel 3 XL hadn't already been leaked to an oblivion, so yeah. This isn't even funny anymore.

I plan on getting the Pixel 3 due to it not having a notch, I want a smaller phone, and the screen is the same size as my current Pixel XL

well it needs a spot for the front stereo speakers and I don't get the obsession with no chin.

It seems to be just a bit smaller then the pixel 2.

and having a chin allows for a place to hold your phone in landscape when watching a video.

For a premium high end phone, that look is rather disgusting.
I don't think that the Pixel XL needs that big of a chin for you to hold to watch a video.

I'd usually hold phone on it's side nowadays to watch videos.

 

But not every phone is made to cater to people who like's higher body to screen ratio like me.

I just don't like the look, doesn't mean that it doesn't work with others.

It's just not my taste and it shouldn't hinder others decision to purchase it.

The samsung S9 is maybe 1-2 mm smaller, and I don't know of any other flagship besides the iPhone X that has a smaller chin.

 Oppo Find X, Vivo Nex S. But poorly optimized UI skin over stock android.

I was hoping 3rd gen pixel would be more bezel-less.

well, if you would of seen the past 2 Pixel phones you would know that they are not trend setters.

 

And both of them don't have stereo front facing speakers.

If dual front speakers are what you're looking for, then the pixel or xperia xz3 is your choice.
As for me, i don't mind the bottom blowing speakers + earpiece speaker.

But damn my fat hands are always covering the bottom speakers 

Ended up using Earpods & Pixelbuds for both my phones.

The Pixel 3 XL is pretty much out at this point. No point hyping up the launch as we know exactly what it will be like anyway.

 

As for my opinions, bleh. I don't understand why Google has to cater to such trends. They mocked Apple for removing the jack with the OG Pixel only to remove it with the Pixel 2 line and for the Pixel 3 XL, they decided to go with the notch but also leave a chin-bar that's about the same size as the one on the P2 XL.

 

Now, I know why the chin bar exists but it looks asymmetrical and odd. The Huawei P20 has the same quirk but that phone at least had the option to basically "hide" its notch. Even if it's the size of the OnePlus 6, I'll be fine with it. But not like that.

 

That camera had better be superb...
