Chance of Steam Falling

I am wondering what would happen if steam falls in 5-10 years. I know that buying a physical copy of a game is sometimes pointless because most games come with a steam key and require steam. But what happens if steam falls and my 100 game steam library is forever lost. The only reason why I buy a physical copy of a game is because it is a collectors edition or its a personal favorite. I know that I can use Razor 1911 with legitimate games to circumvent steam but what happens to the 80-90 games that I purchased from the steam store.

I think they will just give you a permanently offline steam so you ca still play your games.

Steam is heading on a path to be very successful but I guess we dunno what could happen in the next 10 years.

2) We would all have to use Origin or uPlay

3) You would still be able to play offline

This is why DRM free alternatives like GOG and Humblebundle (in most cases) are better places to go to first.

They'll probably make it so you never have to be connected to Steam servers to play games you have already got downloaded. Any game you didn't have downloaded would be gone.

Even if they gave you like 3 months it wouldn't be worth trying. Everyone on Steam constantly downloading all of their games. Their servers would be so slow.

Steam is moving forward, but I often wonder what would happen to my 400+ games.
