I don't think it'd be too bad to have an airline target the middle of the pack pricing with A320s and A350s

and while you're right @Kaloob it's much easier for an A320 pilot to move to an A330, I think 4 additional days in the grand scheme of things isn't a huge deal.
So kind of Blend French bee with a domestic carrier sort of like Southwest but target smaller markets with the A220s and A321N's do heavier lifting on a smaller transcon network and connecting larger cities independently as well as further away flights out of larger cities (thinking A321XLR on lower volume trans atlantic) A350 on higher volume longer haul flights out of the bigger cities with the A350-900 and perhaps A350-1000 even.

 

A350 is more efficient than A330N and while Im sure Airbus would cut a better deal on an A330N I think A350 would foot the bill better than A330N lol

That shows fuel tanks in the front of the wings, but I was curious if it's just those part of the wings (on either side, of course) or the entire wings are full of tanks, and they just aren't shown in the drawing.

Most aircraft from the pre-jet engine era had separate fuel tanks built into the wings instead of a wet wing design. Only a small portion of the wing was used for fuel.  I'm not terrible familiar with the G4M in particular but your image doesn't seem unreasonable compared to other aircraft of that era.  I've attached the tank diagram for a B-17 and you can see roughly the same thing that it's a bunch of smaller individual tanks all plumbed together with pipes and valves.

bettys like most japanese aircraft are hard to find info on and harder to find in english. zero info is easy cus the US captured and test flew a few

I know. I've been running a "pen n paper RPG by email" game, and the heroes have managed to get an ancient Betty into the air, and I"m trying to figure out range for it (which is easy, info on that can be had) based on fuel tanks that leak, and damage from age, etc (it's set in the modern day)

Not actually, I just like to be reasonably accurate (I have some players that do like accurate details)

I have "fudging room" given the age of the plane and whatnot, but still, it's fun to be realistic.

 

What I'd really like to know is how much runway the Betty needs to take off, that's not something I've found

yeah I think the A330N is best for current A330 operators, it's really tough for say a start up to make it sensible. Im sure Airbus would give a really good discount on it.

 

A319N would mostly do what a A220 could do but I think out of smaller airports the A319N has a bit too much capacity and fuel burn for those smaller cities that regional jets serve but giving those cities more non-stop options

I agree that the A319 wouldn't be as well suited aside from comminality  (though that's probably similar to the A350/A330N situation).

yeah that and they already operated A330N's.

Commonality would be a big consideration but I think with the existence of PW1000G series engines on both the A220 and A320 that'll cut down costs a little bit I'm sure.
Although hard to say if it'd be enough that'd make the A319N cheaper to drive down prices lol

A220 would probably work well, but if the A320 was needed as well I'd use an A319 for short routes.

I personally don't like IFE, at least on AA. The DAC is so bad I just use my phone, plus they take up legroom (on their 737s at least).

You mean 7878? Technically it should have 747400 to commemorate the 747-400, but good luck posting that much. 7478 is proper though since they did call it the dash 8 instead of the dash 800.
