Should I trust this brand? (Power Supply)

Blueprint

I will soon be buying a power supply for a new PC I will be building. I have decided to opt for a 850W power supply so that when I upgrade in the future it won't be much of a problem. I need c6/c7 power states compatibility (which the power supply in the link below has) as I will be running a i7 4770k.

Is XFX a reputable brand? -> http://www.scan.co.uk/products/850w-xfx-xxx-p1-850x-xxb9-hybrid-modular-85-eff-80-plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx-v

I'm not sure if this is a good quality supply for my build. Has anyone used this supply before or used an XFX branded supply? If so, do you think it's a good quality power supply?

Thanks,

Blueprint

Never heard of em but they have the 80+ bronze so you should be okay, btw can I see specs even if you plan on upgrading 850watts is a bit overkill

I suggest both of you do far more research please.

XFX are indeed high quality Seasonic units, you will not find a much better platform from anything else, other than the Corsair AX units which cost a premium.

If you have to ask that question the answer is 9/10 it is no. But XFX are not bad(basically seasonic PSUs).

Both of you recommended a brand you have both never heard of, and go by it's efficiency rating, this tells me and any self respecting person in the know, you should not be giving recommendations until you research more.

You may as well tell him to get a Raidmax 80 plus unit and then explain why his PC fried.

However in this case, the XFX is excellent.

First off, ManOfDisguise is making a joke, how you didn't notice I have absolutely no clue. Secondly I tend to trust certifications but if your saying I shouldn't then I guess I wont. I am learning as much as he is here

XFX is a pretty decent brand and since I think most of their PSU's are actually built by Seasonic, yes you can trust them, in my opinion (my opinion may be wrong, you decide) Seasonic make the best PSU's on the market and since they also build PSU's for a lot of other reputable brands like Corsair, you can't go far wrong mate :P

Certs are sometimes fake,, this is a huge reason you should not go off this alone.

Yes, made by seasonic

Antec Corsair XFX all made by seasonic.

Not all of Antec, Corsair and XFX are OEM Seasonic, be weary of this.

Most of XFX's PSU's are Seasonic, even the newer ones, but the recent RM series from Corsair have different OEM's from 450w-650w and 750w+ are completely different.

Yah I don't think that will require 850watt putt your parts together on PcPartPicker and it will tell you your tdp just add a few watts to that for some overhead, buy from a reputable manufacturer like Corsair and apparently XFX and you should be fine.
